I finally reach a short term goal of mine. I am under 200 lbs. It has taken some hard work but is totally worth it. Has anyone else reached their short term goals? ~Michelle

Hey Ya'll!! It sure sounds like everyone is doing great!! I had my surgery on 9/6/06 and have lost 54 lbs and 30 before surgery, so 84 total. This is so cool! I go to the gym and work out 3-4 times per week and have definately noticed a difference in my energy levels. Yesterday we went furniture shopping and I could actually stand the whole time without needing to sit down. Also we walked to another store thru the parking lot without moving the car! OMG I could never have done that! Also my husband has lost 30 lbs so he feels better too! Good luck everyone and have a Happy New Year and a Healthy one too!!! Congrats to all of us!!! There is going to be less of us!!!!

I had my surgery on 9/12/06 and have lost 63 lbs. I am feeling great. I have to work on increasing my exercise. I feel like I am on a plateau, however my surgeon is excited that I am still losing. Congratulations to everyone for the great job you are doing and keep up the great job!!!!! Schawnte'

Topic: New to this board
Hi All, I had my surgery on 9/12...but I didn't know this board existed until now. Oh well...at least I found you all. I am doing well with weight loss (down 77 pounds)...but I am also having some bad problems and my Surgeon is now sending me to a Gastroenterologist. OK....this may be TMI for some of you but here is the deal: I do not "poo" (as Oprah would say). I can't go. Period. It's horrible. I am on Miralax, every other day, and now Zelnorm twice a day...and it's still No-Go. My stomach starts to ache about 2-3 days, and I have to break down and use a Fleets Enema. I try to hold out using it for 5 days but sometimes I just can't. It's as if I lost all motility in my colon. There is another girl on the NY Board who has the same thing but she is 2 years post-op and has had 7 surgeries!!!! I don't want that to be my fate. So, I am seeing a special Gastro who knows all about weight loss surgery. That appointment is not until the 25th. The 2nd problem I have is random but horrible nausea when I start to eat. It is NOT food getting stuck; I have had that a few times. This is just sudden nausea that leads to real vomiting. It's awful. The girl on the NY Board has this as well. Her prognosis is unknown. I am terrified that mine will be as well. Anyway...I am sorry that my first post here was a downer. If anyone has experienced similar issues, PLEASE let me know. Thanks, and hugs to all, Karen Long Island, NY Dr. Shawn Garber, RNY 9/11/06 296/219 - Goal 150

I am glad to see that all of my September buddies have done wonderful!!!! I myself am currently (as of yesterday) down 90 pounds!!!! I have started a new job (finally) and I feel fantastic I can actually stand at the copier without needed a chair to sit on and I can walk around without loosing my breath. I have my 4 month checkup on Tuesday and I am sure my doctor will be very happy.

Thanks for posting this... I am down 76 pounds, and yes, a bit saggy, but feeling GREAT! I havent had this much energy in a very very long time. I was getting dizzy but my surgeon said to increase the fluids, and I have not had a problem since. Was a long 1st 6 weeks with horrible complications, didnt think I would EVER be glad I had this done....but guess what? I AM glad I had this surgery, cant believe I actually feel that way, but I do. Congrats to all of us!! Michelle
