Topic: RE: How do we maximize our window of opportunity?
I would say drink your fluids, proteins and exercise everyday. I've slowed down some since my surgery, but still manage to lose 3-4 lbs a week. The first two months I was losing 8-15 a week for a few weeks.
The other poster is correct. Get into your good habits now and stay with them. I still throw up if I eat anything the least little bit greasy. Also, chicken doesn't stay with me no matter how I fix it. I don't even try sweets. I just don't want to open that door, I'd rather do without than find that I may or may not dump from sugar. I've heard too many posters say they wish they had never tried sugar.
I've learned a lot from reading other's postings. There's a lot of wisdom on these different boards.
Hope this helped. Good luck!

It's called Old Bay. It's a seasoning for seafood. It should be in the spice section. I don't know if you like shrimp but I marinated some in a SF hazelnut syrup once that was really unusually good. Let me know if you come across any good recipes. I'm always up for something new.

Thanks for responding. I will give the marinara sauce a try. What is bay seasoning????
I thought about trying salsa too.

It's funny, but I thought about this exact thing just this morning...I'm not prego, but CONGRATS to you anyway! You should go on the pregnancy board to see if you can get any support there.
CONGRATS-all babies are a blessing- even the unplanned ones!

I marinated mahi-mahi in olive oil and bay seasonings and the grilled it. It was so good! Also, I read if you poach fish in marinara sauce that it will always be soft and tender and it is impossible to overcook it. I tried poaching in white wine and lemon juice and it was rubbery. Not good--ick! I seem to have lost all of my fish cooking skills that I once had. Also, try salmon. It is a very forgiving fish if you tend to overcook it.
Topic: pregnant! Any one else???
I had my surgery on September 7th. I just discovered I am 8 weeks pregnant and I am not even 5 months post -op.
Barix is going to love me!
Has anyone else accidently gotten pregnant so early on?
I know it is horrible but I am very concerned if this will stall my weight loss forever.
I am told the window of opportunity for big losses ends after the first year. This baby is due a few days after what would have been my one year anniversary of the surgery.
Topic: RE: Hernia issues...and I'm cold all of the time.
regarding the hernia... my sis had to have hernia surgery and about 2 months or so after she noticed that her buldge wasnt really going down so she had it checked out and her dr said it was fluid that they put in there when they repaired her and her body was rejecting the fluid thats why hers wasnt absorbing like it was supposed to...they had to go back in and drain the fluid out not saying thats what yours is of course just throwing her out come in there so maybe u could ask your dr if it could be a possability or something... congrats on the weight loss...
