Phyllis, It sounds like what happen to me in Dec. and it turned out to be a stricture. I couldn't keep food or water down at all. Call the surgeon's office right away. Laura

Phyllis, I would call your doctor/surgeon ASAP. Something is definetly not right, and you need some help now. If you cant get ahold of them, I would head to the ER and let them take care of you. I wish you lots of luck, and let us know how you are doing. Michelle

Call your doctor!!! Or better yet, get yourself to the ER. Having said that, maybe you have a stricture. Gina L. had that problem on the TX Board, she got to where she couldn't drink water either and it turned out to be a stricture. I'm on Prevacid until my 6 months, then I'm suppose to be able to get off of it. Hope so anyway. Maybe you could try to at least get sugar free popcycles down? Good luck, Donna

Congrats Ladies! I am 5 months as of Feb 13th-I had my surgery Sept. 13th and am down a total of 79lbs. I have to tell you seeing you talk about going down a couple, up a couple puts me at so much ease! I am a worry wart and although I have done fantastic "overall" for 5 months, the 5th month I lost not a pound! It went down, then up, then down, etc... I FREAKED out because I never expected to just not loose even a lbs this early in the game! I thought for sure it's failed and I am done! I am a little under half way to my goal and going nuts because I feel like something's gone wrong! Thank goodness for these forums, I also decided to take my concerns to the doc next week!

Topic: 4 Months Post-OP & Cannot Eat Solid Foods
I'm 4 months post-op today 2/15/07...and I haven't been able to eat any solid food for almost a week now. My surgeon took me off "Previcid' and told me to use "Tagament" but the Tagament doesn't do anything. I'm having severe back pain & also stomach pain. Another doctor at the hospital told me to return to the Previcid. I did return to it today but I still can't eat anything. Does anyone have similar problems & if you how were they elevated. I'm scared to death that I have an ulcer or that the colon was shortened too much & that's why I can't eat. I also cannot drink any water & am scared of being dehydrated! I really need help. Thanks, Phyllis S.:(

I would agree....it means to follows your docs orders. I need to exercise for at least 20-30 min 5-6x a week (I need to "sweat") and I need to strength train I need to eat protein first, veggies second and anything else 3rd. I need to have a min of 64 oz water a day take all my vitamins (and urisdol for 4 more weeks) 2-3 meals, 2-3 snacks, no grazing keep things low fat or low sugar stay away from mush, eat chewable foods

broiled Tilapia 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese 2 tablespoons butter, softened 1 tablespoon and 1-1/2 teaspoons mayonnaise 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice 1/8 teaspoon dried basil 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/8 teaspoon onion powder 1/8 teaspoon celery salt 1 pound tilapia fillets Grease a broiling pan or line pan with aluminum foil. In a small bowl, mix together the Parmesan cheese, butter, mayonnaise and lemon juice. Season with dried basil, pepper, onion powder and celery salt. Mix well and set aside. Arrange fillets in a single layer on the prepared pan. Broil a few inches from the heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Flip the fillets over and broil for a couple more minutes. Remove the fillets from the oven and cover them with the Parmesan cheese mixture on the top side. Broil for 2 more minutes or until the topping is browned and fish flakes easily with a fork. Be careful not to over cook the fish.
