Nicole, Congrats on your 6 month success! I will be 6 months out tomorrow and I agree with everything you said. I feel SO much better physically, can keep up with my 4 young children and still have some energy left over at the end of the day. What a blessing, I feel very grateful to have been able to help myself this way. Michelle

We are only 4 days apart. I hit a 3 week stall at the same time you did. It finally broke on Wednesday. Although for 3 weeks the weight wasnt dropping, the inches and sizes of my clothes were. Don't worry...you are not done yet. I have heard the honey moon period is anywhere between 9 and 18 months, but it all depends on the individual. Heather

I have always heard that the honeymoon period is 12-18 months. Mine had better not be over!!! LOL I've also heard lots of people further out talk about a big stall at 6 months out and then things pick up again in months 7 and 8 so I'm holding out for that. Christine

Topic: 6 months out
March 19th marked my 6 month anniversary. I really am so proud of myself, though I thought I'd be at least 100 pounds down by now, I'm still happy with my results because my life is changing so much. I see how people treat you differently. I get people who actually look me in the eye-though I thought they always did, but now it seems like they're really listening to me. I have an amazing amount of energy. I can run up and down and up and down the stairs at home. I no longer take the elevator up 2 floors at work-I take the stairs. I walk the long way to the bathroom. I "forget" to eat! Imagine that! I still have head hunger-when I'm bored, or if I argue with my husband, or have a stressful deadline at work-I do get the urge to nibble, but I always remember that my tool was a God given gift-not to be abused, so I quickly bring myself back to earth and get my head straight. I excercise and remember that I have to take care of me first and foremost before my family or anyone else so I can be there for them in 10, 15, 20 years. I have still about 100 pounds to go and another year to do it, so I'm going to get on my grind and up my excercise and really concentrate even more on what goes into my mouth. Overall, I feel blessed to have been able to have this surgery and I would do it all over again without a second thought! Good luck to all pre-ops, post ops and no-ops.

Topic: RE: Hair Loss/Hair Thinning
I started losing hair around month 3. It was coming out in handfuls! Yikes...I am taking biotin and extra amino acid suppositories as well as protein, and it didn't seem to make much of a difference. I did cut my hair a lot shorter and that helped, and I use this great product from Bed Head called "thickening paste". It really made a difference in how thin it looked. Now that I'm hitting the 6 month mark I am definitely seeing a slowdown in hair loss, now I don't fill the shower and I can actually wash my hair more than twice a week without. I still lose some when I bru**** but it's not nearly as bad as it was. And I'm getting a "fuzzy halo" where the hair is starting to grow in on top again. Well, I guess it's the only halo I'm ever going to be wearing in this life so I'm not complaining

Remember what they say "The first 6 months are the Honeymoon period", you don't have to try as hard and the weight falls off. Well now it is on you..You need to take everything that you have learned, and your new found energy and get your butt in exercise gear girly! I personally have hit my doctors goal, and lost a total of 85lbs...I was losing at a steady 2-4 lbs a week last month, and now I am happy if I lose 1-2lbs. I find that when I eat all of my regular meals, and I exercise my body gets a kick start. You just have to work a little harder, and use what you know. You will continue to do great, I know you can do it.
