Topic: So how are you all handling the new attention?
I'm really struggling with this...I'm 13 lbs away from "normal" and a few days short of 9 months post op. I'm 5'9" so quiet honestly if I stopped losing weight now I'd be happy. I see some flab on my thighs, calves and stomach still, but ya know what, I'm not looking for perfection, I really feel sooooo much better. I have very mixed emotions about how I'm treated now. I'm a tall blond, and now between a size 10-12 so I get a lot more attention then I used to. One side of me won't leave the house without clothes that fit me well and looking good. The other side of me is very short on patience with the stares and shy about it. As I right this I'm in Hyderbad, India. A business trip to train a new team. Something I could not even have thought about 110lbs heavier. So as you can see the opportunities are bigger then they ever have been (this is my first time leaving the US). I don't know how to put this in it's proper place. I know a lot of the new attention is the energy I give off now, I'm much happier so I'm sure that's a big part of it. I guess what I'm dealing with now is what most girls learn in their teens, how to deal with male attention, it's finding appropriate boundaries I'm learning I guess. Just exploring how I'm really feeling about this and curious how you all are dealing with it? Renee

Topic: 9 Months Out Tomorrow!!!
Hello, I am new to this board. Since tomorrow I will be 9 months out from Gastric Bypass RNY Lap I wanted to post to this forum. I have came along ways since Sept 1 of last year. I weighed 388 pounds the day of surgery and I now weigh 243. I have lost since that day 145 lbs. That is not including the 15 lbs I pulled off before surgery. So a total of 160lbs. That is alot of weight in 9 months and I am proud of it. But I have started like most of you only losing a few pounds a month. It really bothers me now cause I don't want to stop. I have 63 pounds I want to shed to be at a goal weight of 180. But i am worried I want make it. Anyhow since surgery I also had to have my gallbladder out. It came out May 8th this year. Let me tell you if you start having pains then get yours checked cause it ain't nothing to play with. The pain is next to having a child. I was scheduled to have it June 8th and it wouldn't wait that long. Worse pain I have ever felt except having my son. Anyhow other then that I have had no problems, I can eat basicly anything I want. I don't do dairy tho. As far as drinking milk and having ice creme that ain't happening. Which is good in a way cause i don't need it. Other then that I can handle most anything. Well I just wanted to post that and also see how other's are doing at my stage. Hope to talk to a few of you soon. Mary

Ok- I'm with ya sister! 109 lbs down.... Barely squeezing into a 16 or an 18 depending on the brand. Bra size barely went down..... I'm happy for the weight that I have lost, but, come on! I see other people posting that they have lost alot more and are in a much smaller size. I'm down to losing 2-3 pounds a month. I go to the gym, I walk... But, when I look back at pictures from a year ago- all that I can say is "who in the h*** was that? You're looking great! Laure

I'm a year ahead of you, and I had a long stall right about this point in my progress: 28 11 11 4 15 4.7 1 8.5 5 3 5.5 4.5 101.2 These are my pounds lost each month, and as you can see, April last year was only 1 lb, but as you can see I lost another 26.5 lbs between then & September. The kickboxing will help, but remember that you'll be adding some muscle, so you may not immediately see the changes on the scale. --BT

Topic: Finally
I finally reached onederland. Since surgery I have lost 89 pounds and since my highest weight before surgery 106 pounds. I never thought I would get here. The scales was just not moving. But I had lost 17.5 inches since 10 Feb so that was a plus.
