Topic: RE: Top Ten Reasons September is a Good Surgery Month
If I had to give out any advice to those pre op it would be:
Take a few pics and measurments monthley.
Write yourself a note things like what you hope for, how you feel now ect, then open it on your surgaversary.
Update your profile at least once a month , You never know who is going to be looking up to you for inspiration, hope, confermation, or just to know they are "normal" so to speak.
Check the july and august boards to see what you can expect in the next few months...
Good Luck
Shel

Hi Erica
Just wanted to let you know that you are doing what most of of who are wishing to have the surgery are doing on a daily basis. I started my WLS journey Nov /05 and
still have not gotten an approval first time around denied, just resubmitted the appeal to Aetna POS II, trying to stay postive and prayed up with reassurance that I will
get approved this time, I will let everyone on the message board know. So keep the faith keep and continue to visit the site, it has help me on this journey.I 'll be talking to you soon.
Take care.
PS: I started reading this site from day one and still visit on daily basis it normal from
the anticipation of changing your life.

Summer BBQ season is almost over.
By the time you get to thanksgiving and christmas you'll be more attracted to turkey then those dump causing icky things.
By the time you need a winter coat you can look forward to buying a smaller size.
You'll have more energy to play in the snow and to shovel it, and it's a great workout.
This yr when you make the new years resalution to lose weight next yr , you'll actualy be able to stick to it.....lol

I'll add, you're close to Christmas (if you celebrate), so plenty of reason for people to buy you some new clothes to start the new wardrobe you'll need!
Topic: Top Ten Reasons September is a Good Surgery Month
I thought I'd start the ball rolling with some thoughts I had today about why September is a good month to start this journey: (In no particular order)
1. Summer's done, temps start falling - perfect time to start a walking program.
2. No major "eating" holidays until Thanksgiving (Halloween for me usually isn't a problem - not a real candy person.) 2 solid months to heal and adjust to the new status quo.
3. Most co-workers have finished their vacations - not so much of a hassle to schedule time off.
4. Kids are in school again (I don't have any - but I imagine for most people that would be a bonus.)
5. By the time next summer rolls around again, we'll have 10 or more months of losing behind us....shorts and swimsuits likely won't be so scary. ;)
Anyone care to add to the list?

Hi Tweety -
I just got my date today - I imagine you'll see more people joining our ranks pretty soon as July comes to a close.
I feel the same way as you do - seems like it's a long ways out, but looking at what I've gotten done in the past 7 months of work-ups, it'll go by fast.
Topic: RE: My date is September 11th 2006
Hi to All!
I'm scheduled September 18th. Started my work-ups back in December. Having lapro r-n-y.
I'm looking forward to more of us September people posting as we get closer to our dates.

Hi Tweety!
This board is pretty quiet now, but I bet it will pick up as September gets closer. My surgery is Sept. 6th and the time has been flying by since I got my date about a month ago.
