I have surgery on the 1st too! Congratz on your upcoming date!
I havent started those thoughts yet but I think it's mainly because I've consentrated so heavily on trying to make it through the 2 week pre-op liquid diet that I've been put on. I still find myself salivating over t.v. commercials and the intial impulse to grab some solid chewable food when I open the fridge.
I'm sure I'll start thinking along those lines soon, beacuse it's quite normal. You'll be fine! You'll be back here in 2 weeks wondering what you did to yourself, then after about a month out you'll be all happy!

My surgery is about a week away now........Is anyone else getting really nervous and having second thoughts?? I used to think about all the positive things....now all I can think about is really, really bad things......anyone else doing this?

Unfortunately, I'm not losing, but gaining....are you following a diet plan? I keep wanting to "eat" all the thiings I won't be having anymore. Good Luck to you!

Topic: Excited, Nervous and Supported
My surgery is 2 weeks from today -Sept. 6. Everytime I say it, I get more nervous. At the same time, I am very excited about getting healthy! I am so thankful for these message boards. It's so nice to be able to "talk" to others that can relate to what I'm going through. I have been very open about my surgery and have told everyone I come in contact with - almost everyone has been very supportive. My mom was leery at first - just afraid of the unknown. Now that she has done some reading and talking to others- she feels much better. I hesitate to let her know how nervous I am, for fear of scaring her. I am so close to both my parents and they will be coming in for my surgery. I know they will be able to see through my anxieties. I am praying for a peace so I don't "freak" everyone else out. My wonderful hubby of 24 yrs. is my #1 supporter. I don't know where I'd be without him. Thank God, both of my beautiful children and my 3 very special sisters are very supportive too. Everyone (including ME) is excited about the prospect of having me healthy! Good Luck to all you Sept. surgeries. I am praying for all of us!

Hey Rich - I will add you to my prayer list. I can't wait to get healthy again! I hope I can figure out how to get a "beforez" picture up before it is time to do "after" pics. - ha! I have a picture, but it keeps telling me it's too many pixels. My son got it smaller, but not quite small enough. I'll keep trying! 2 weeks of liquid - oh my! We only do liquids the day before surgery. I bet you'll lose quite a bit BEFORE your surgery. Good Luck to you!!!

Hey Julie!!! I'm Sept 6th as well. just started my 2 week liquid diet per surgeon's orders, but I see the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!!!!!!!! my surgery time is 7:30 am CDT. Let's all keep praying for each other this will be a hoot to start seeing everyones after pictures!!!
