My surgery is on the 12th, too! Best wishes to you, Carolyn! I know what you mean about being a little nervous, but it will be worth it to get rid of the comorbities that you have. Just think... Only a few more days to go!

Ok, now I'm really panicking...surgery is only 2-3 days away now. Man, am I nervous. My stomach keeps growling and making funny noises and I only hope that everything turns out ok. I'm not sure if I'm prepared, either, but ready or not, here I come! Good luck to you, too, Maxine! Hang in there!

My surgery clinic recommended a protein drink for breakfast, one for lunch, and a Lean Cuisine or the like for dinner. The reason is to shrink your liver so that your surgery is easier. It's so worth it to get a jump start on your healthier way of living. I just bought a big bag of protein drink at Costco, called Pro-Rated. I bought the Chocolate Bavarian flavored, and it's really quite delicious.

My date is 9/12/06 too. I am so excited and happy. I feel very confident about having this surgery and starting a new way of life. I know it is right. All the best to all of us September people!!

THanks girlfriend!!! I got on the scale we have here at work and it said I had already lost 4 pounds. I didn't believe it so I stopped by my doctor's office on the way home from work and I LOST 4 POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have 6 more days for me to lose the minimum but I KNOW I can do this. It sure has helped though with everyone from the website rooting for me!!!!!!!
Are you getting nervous about your surgery? I am but onyl because I hate protein drinks and I KNOW they will be a part of me for sometime! LOLOL just kidding. I am nervous because I handle everything in my house so I don't know how they are all going to do it with me incapacitated. Ah well that's another post I suppose. BUT YEAH FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are going to have to stay in touch so that we will know how the other one did!

I'm happy and nervous all at the same time. It's only a few days away and I don't know if I have everything prepared . It's like my mind goes 90 m/p/h!! I don't know if being in the medical field makes it better or worse.[lol]
