Hi Renee. I'm glad that you are doing well. I also had surgery on 9/7 (SSF-Kaiser) and I left the hospital Friday at lunchtime. I must've received the "poster-child" pouch, because I haven't had any problems at all (knock on wood). It is hard to get that liquid in, but don't forget that the liquid from your soups, or broth or crystal light etc. count too. I also know what you mean about the family cooking and eating around you, and you are so right, it doesn't even matter right now. If I start to get that anxious feel or whatever it is, I know it's time for me to have some soup, or cream of wheat etc. I hope that you continue to do well and good luck with everything.

I have been on the pre-op diet almost the 10 days now, with surgery tomorrow. I have lost about 8 pounds. The key is to not cheat. I only cheated once, with a bowl of cream soup, because I thought these were OK, but they are not. Stick to clear liquids only and you should be able to lose the weight the doctor wants you to. Good luck! You can do it!
