Topic: I have to start the wonderful cleansing tomorrow
I think I am more nervous about that than the actual surgery on Tuesday! I am worried I wont be able to choke down that nasty liquid. My friend said she gagged the entire time she was putting that stuff down. I am sooo ready for Tuesday to get here so I can start my new life, so to speak.
Topic: clear liquid diet for pre-op

Topic: RE: four days post op pain
Hi Aunt Jenni - I'm a new Ikrammudin post-op (rny was Monday) and I can vouch that what you've said is true - you're not unusual.
I had trouble when they started weaning me off the morphine. Just simply hurt. The Roxicet works great, and I've been on it for a couple of days, but I think I'm at the point now (4 days out) where I can forego the regular Roxicet and I'm feeling better. Getting rid of a lot of gas certainly has helped me to! Walking seems to loosen it up a bit.
But I suppose that's why they give you Roxicet at discharge - there's obviously a NEED for it, right? I think it's more unusual for people to say they didn't need to use a pain med post-op at home.
Hope things are going a bit more pain-free for you at this point. We'll have to touch base again - you're about a week and 1/2 ahead of me. Our journeys may have a lot in common!
Take care!

Got home yesterday too. I'm doing water, broth, might try popsicles this weekend. But I've been taking Roxicet until tonight - wow, that gas does a number on you!
But I think *knock wood* the worst of the gas is over with - had a series of "openings" and suddenly felt like "myself" again. lol
Hope everyone else is having the same luck!
And yes, I do agree- you don't get much sleep in a hospital.
Best of luck with your first post-op appointment!
