Just a little word of encouragement...no longer is it quantity, rather quality of weight we are losing. Try the plateau buster, I did and it worked. Every pound we lose now counts for a lot because the bulk is gone...forever...Also, make sure you are exercising, exercising, exercising....mix it up, this will "trick" your body back into weight loss mode also. Remeber that strength exercises increase your metabolism. Hope this helps!

Topic: Is anyone else stalled???
Hi All, So I haven't lost weight in almost 2 months. I am stuck at 160. I hit 159 for like 2 days and thats it. I have gone down a size in pants but thats it. I am exercising and watching what I eat. I am eatig about 4-6 oz 4-5 times a day. I am getting about 1000 calories in, plus water and protien. Anyone else stuck? I know there is a platue buster diet... should I try that? Enough about me... How is everyone else doing? Starting: 275 Day Of:265 Today:160 Goal 140

Topic: RE: So how are you all handling the new attention?
Oh my gosh I so hear you all, I am down 130 now at 225 and it is so hard to handle the attention I used to think the only reason was the looks but I agree it is the confidence and the way you carry yourself. I lost alot of weight in 1999 got to 170 and I always felt that maybe the reason I gained it back was because I lost my safety net. I am struggling with the same things you all are, all I can say is get support I plan to. And it is ok for us to want to look good for ourselves and our hubby's It is so good to know that are others going through the same thing this really helps me cause I always thought that I was using the safety thing as a cop out but now I know it is real feelings I think this knowledge will help me battle these feelings Thanks to all.

You have voiced what many of us have been going through and thinking. I thought I stretched my pouch and had gone to see my surgeon to see if this new procedure called the Stomaphyx can be done on me...(making my pouch smaller) but the truth is that he said I'm a nibbler...and he was right. Even though sometimes i was nibbling on okay foods like jello, or fruit but he had stated to me that I need to be eating 3 meals a day and I didn't/ hadn't listen. I want to lose 20-30 lbs and thought it would be impossible since I never really stop exercising but my eating was getting in the way - well I finally listened and by eating 3 meals a day and watching that I don't get hypoglycemic and having a few bites of a pure protein bar before working out I have thus lost 2 lbs...now I see Im on the move and it's possible to get moving a little bit more though I know my body will feel comfortable at a certain weight but I think I can move it along by trying the 3 meals. That's my story! LOL You just have to find out what it is that will get you moving.

Topic: RE: My hair is thining and breaking
Hi Crystal, It is a part of the process ...but...don't worry. It does grow back. My hair started to fall out about 4 to 6 months after surgery & it started coming back about 6 to 8 weeks later. I do take Biotin ( for hair, skin & nails) as always...check with your surgeon before taking anything. I wish you the best. Dale

Topic: RE: How is everyone doing??
It's been just over 10 months since my surgery and I'm just 7 pounds from my goal weight of 125 pounds. I took up running in March and have competed in two 5K runs, a 10K, and a 15K. Now, I'm training for a half marathon in September. It's truly amazing to have my life back and so much fun to shop for clothes.
