9 Months Out Tomorrow!!!
Hello,
I am new to this board. Since tomorrow I will be 9 months out from Gastric Bypass RNY Lap I wanted to post to this forum. I have came along ways since Sept 1 of last year. I weighed 388 pounds the day of surgery and I now weigh 243. I have lost since that day 145 lbs. That is not including the 15 lbs I pulled off before surgery. So a total of 160lbs. That is alot of weight in 9 months and I am proud of it. But I have started like most of you only losing a few pounds a month. It really bothers me now cause I don't want to stop. I have 63 pounds I want to shed to be at a goal weight of 180. But i am worried I want make it. Anyhow since surgery I also had to have my gallbladder out. It came out May 8th this year. Let me tell you if you start having pains then get yours checked cause it ain't nothing to play with. The pain is next to having a child. I was scheduled to have it June 8th and it wouldn't wait that long. Worse pain I have ever felt except having my son. Anyhow other then that I have had no problems, I can eat basicly anything I want. I don't do dairy tho. As far as drinking milk and having ice creme that ain't happening. Which is good in a way cause i don't need it. Other then that I can handle most anything. Well I just wanted to post that and also see how other's are doing at my stage. Hope to talk to a few of you soon.
Mary
Hi Mary,
I too am just about 9 months out.....and like you I have lost tons & tons of weight though I wasn't that large buy the time I got to surgery (254#)....I am now weighing in at 140# & am down to a size 10 instead of the 26 & 3x's I was wearing last year! I feel sooooo darn great as I am sure you do too! In fact, I walked in my first Relay for Life on Friday & actually made it 1 whole mile...sure couldn't have done that last year. Like you I too cannot do dairy of any kind....especially eggs! Thank goodness though I had my gallbladder out 2 years ago but I have had terrible gas pains that have travelled up into my stomach & landed me in the ER a few times. Though I am now eating much, much better but I have been told to eat slower. Right now I do not have my upper teeth but Wednesday I am beginning oral surgery to have new bone & implants put in so that I can once again chew! Oh gosh won't that be delightful. Will take a year but heck who cares. If I make my food as tiny as what you feed to a baby then I have no problems getting it down. Keep up the good work that you are doing......see you around the board now & then! Phyllis
