How do we maximize our window of opportunity?

I need some advice from folks farther along than I am. I keep hearing people say to maximize the honeymoon phase. What does that mean exactly? I eat right and exercise some. What else should I be doing? Should I be exercising like crazy at this point to take advantage of the honeymoon phase? I am 10 weeks post-op.
My surgery date was 9/27/04 and the honeymoon is over... For me this means that I am hungry like a "normal" person, I can eat larger portions like a "normal" person and I can eat just about anything I want without feeling sick or dumping. My interpretations of taking advantage of the honeymoom phase is to follow your docs guidlines of what types of foods to eat and portions as well as trying to get on a regular routine with exercise. The more you do now to establish a routine with your eating and exercise the easier it will be for you later to keep your new habbits.
Hope this helps.

I would say drink your fluids, proteins and exercise everyday. I've slowed down some since my surgery, but still manage to lose 3-4 lbs a week. The first two months I was losing 8-15 a week for a few weeks.
The other poster is correct. Get into your good habits now and stay with them. I still throw up if I eat anything the least little bit greasy. Also, chicken doesn't stay with me no matter how I fix it. I don't even try sweets. I just don't want to open that door, I'd rather do without than find that I may or may not dump from sugar. I've heard too many posters say they wish they had never tried sugar.
I've learned a lot from reading other's postings. There's a lot of wisdom on these different boards.
Hope this helped. Good luck!

I would agree....it means to follows your docs orders.
I need to exercise for at least 20-30 min 5-6x a week (I need to "sweat") and I need to strength train
I need to eat protein first, veggies second and anything else 3rd.
I need to have a min of 64 oz water a day
take all my vitamins (and urisdol for 4 more weeks)
2-3 meals, 2-3 snacks, no grazing
keep things low fat or low sugar
stay away from mush, eat chewable foods
