New to this board
Hi All,
I had my surgery on 9/12...but I didn't know this board existed until now. Oh well...at least I found you all.
I am doing well with weight loss (down 77 pounds)...but I am also having some bad problems and my Surgeon is now sending me to a Gastroenterologist.
OK....this may be TMI for some of you but here is the deal: I do not "poo" (as Oprah would say). I can't go. Period. It's horrible. I am on Miralax, every other day, and now Zelnorm twice a day...and it's still No-Go. My stomach starts to ache about 2-3 days, and I have to break down and use a Fleets Enema. I try to hold out using it for 5 days but sometimes I just can't.
It's as if I lost all motility in my colon. There is another girl on the NY Board who has the same thing but she is 2 years post-op and has had 7 surgeries!!!! I don't want that to be my fate. So, I am seeing a special Gastro who knows all about weight loss surgery. That appointment is not until the 25th.
The 2nd problem I have is random but horrible nausea when I start to eat. It is NOT food getting stuck; I have had that a few times. This is just sudden nausea that leads to real vomiting. It's awful. The girl on the NY Board has this as well.
Her prognosis is unknown. I am terrified that mine will be as well.
Anyway...I am sorry that my first post here was a downer.
If anyone has experienced similar issues, PLEASE let me know.
Thanks, and hugs to all,
Karen
