open roux-en-y

I have a question for those of you who had open roux-en-y. What does your scar look like today? Mind is still pretty red looking and now it is bumpy like when you touch it. Just wondering if its normal. It can still hurt once in awhile too. Any imput would be great. Thanks and Happy Holidays!!! Laura

Hi Laura I didnt have open surgery, but I did have an open surgery in the past. That left a scar about 5 inches long... It been 18 years and it looks a shade darker than my skin but is not very noticeable unless your looking for it.

I had open also and my scar sounds a lot like yours. Mine doesn't hurt if you touch it but sometimes it hurts from the inside if that makes sense.

My scar is 3 1/2 inches long and I'm black, so it's brown and about 1 shade darker than my skin. It doesn't hurt, but sometimes if I do something that may strain my stomach muscle, like lift my daughter, it hurts a tad bit, but nothing to write home about. I think it looks pretty amazing.
