How much are you eating?
I will be 9 weeks out on Monday. I have been on regular food since 6 weeks. I am supposed to be eating 75 grams of protein a day, minimal carbs, 2 or less grams of sugar per serving and get between 28 and 46 grams of fat a day.
I am curious as to what others at around 8 or 9 weeks are eating through out the day. I have been tracking on nutridiary.com and really like it. It allows you to track sugars where fitday.com does not.
Today I had:
b-Carb and sugar control vanilla yogurt with a TBSP of baby food bananas and a TBSP of bran
s-1 oz low fat cheese and two low fat triscuits
L-a few bits of lettuce, 1/2 oz of chicken, 8 pretzel and peanut butter nuggets (not a great choice)
s-1 oz beef jerky
D-1/2 cup imitation lobster with low fat mayo, onion and celery with 2 pieces of fat free Rye melba toast
s-pure protein bar
64 oz of water and crystal light
I feel like I am eating way more than what others are eating and yet I am staying with in the guidelines of my program. I am interested in seeing if I am on par with others the same distance out.
Thanks!
Heather
I am curious, too, about what others are eating, so yours was a great post. I've been satisfied with my weight loss - 40 lbs since surgery date and haven't had too many problems with eating. I've also been pretty strict with my diet so far - thanks in part to not craving much other than protein.
Yesterday I had:
Kashi Go Lean oatmeal (1/2 cup)
Turkey, mozzarella, artichokes mixed 1/2 to 3/4 cup
8 oz Nectar protein drink
Fit & Free pizza (fat free pizza I ordered online) 1/2 of a 6" round
I think I had just under 40oz water
Thanks for posting - great idea. I'll be anxious to see what others in our surgery date range are eating.
I order the pizza from: http://www.pizzafree.com/
I like them - but I'm not the most picky person about pizza. It's more just the thought that I can have pizza again!
When I read all of the posts seems like my doctor is the only one who doesn't belive in snacks....I am suppose to focus on 2 meals a day and a shake.
yesterday I ate...
b most of a bowl of weight control oatmeal
protein shake
d tuna melts on low fat crackers
I wonder sometimes if this is why I am losing so slow...Was 8 weeks out wednesday and down 31 pounds...I wonder if I am not eating enough.
Wow, I'm not eating nearly that much!!
B- 1/2 egg or some plain cheerios
protien drink
L- 2 table spoons of chicken and refried beans
protien drink
D- the same as lunch (leftovers)
I drink water or tea through out the day
I'm still suppost to be on pureed food until Thanksgiving, but that's so hard to keep doing!! And any type of bread is off limits to us!! It's funny to see what different doctors tell you to eat!
I'm a person who apparently doesn't dump on sugar. Fats might be my issue - salad dressings and certain sauces get me "queasy" from time to time, but no dumping. Carbs don't affect me like they do other people, but I try to limit them.
I average about 3/4 to 1 cup of food in a sitting, it goes back and forth between the two depending on what the food's consistency is.
Today's menu, for example (and this isn't typical, I had to improvise at work):
B - 3 tbsp of All Bran cereal w/skim milk (didn't have an appetite)
L - 1 small biscotti & 2 oz. cheddar cheese (leftovers from a holiday party)
S - repeat of lunch
D - small grilled chicken breast and roughly 1/2 cup of salad greens (part of a huge bowl of chicken salad I ordered at a restaurant - it looked like I only "skimmed" the top of the plate - couldn't even fit all the rest in the To-Go Box LOL
In between all that, I have as much tea as I can handle.
So, today was more carb than protein most likely - but portions seem to be consistant. A little uncomfortable after the chicken salad, only because I likely ate it too fast.
