Way to go...You have lost alot.:cool:My doctor had me eating mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, saltine crackers, peanut butter, chicken noodle soup without the chicken, applesauce starting my 5th day. I had gastric bypass....DID YOU? I have been able to add eggs my 7th day...OOOHHHH they are good!!!!!! I was told not to try shakes yet. I think that will come next week(my 3rd week). As of today I have lost 14 lbs. Hang in there... Janet:dance:

My surgery was 9/20. All has gone great so far. No vomiting etc.. Drinking protein shakes and fruit drinks, sugar free jello, stallones protein pudding, cottage cheese and even some extra lite canned fruit. Are we allowed other foods? I don't like yogart but I know some eat that also. Can't wait for scrammbled eggs!!

I'm 2 1/2 weeks out now and in the first week all I ate were the shakes, chicken broth and water. It's VERY important to get the protein in. I was and still am using a product by Nature's Whey, I found it very easy to drink, not chalky and tastes good. Available at my local health food store. If you can't deal with what your using make sure you find one you can. Protein is the key to this! You do not want to lose muscle and your hair. Good luck! Renee

Hi Renee, How much have you lost and did you have the gastric bypass or lapband? My doctor told me not to do shakes yet because I did not need them. Just protein!!!! Thank you, Janet:jump:

I know your question was not directed to me but i just had surgery (gastric) on teh 21st and my doctor and nutritionest both said if i got anyhting down at all make sure it was plenty of water and the protein shakes. they are loaded with protien you have to drink at least 60 grams of protien a day. I ahve lsot at least 13 lbs. Are you having problems with bowel movements? I was doing great ( for teh first time in my life I was regular) but none yesterday or so far today. i dont knwo if i should worry or if there is anythign I can take. Thanks Jamie

I had the RNY, and have lost 15lbs since surgery. The shakes are protein only. Certainly listen to your doctors advice as they know best. Renee
