no loss yet
I had an RNY on 9/11 and was sweating bullets for the first week because of 0 loss. I didn't even lose on the pre-op liquid diet the week prior to surgery. My doc said I had 10-12 pounds of fluid in my stomach from all the iv's ect. When I went in yesterday to get my staples removed, I've lost 15 lbs.
Each person is different. I happen to have thyroid problems and retain fluid like crazy so I expect to have a slower rate than most people.
Don't compare yourself to anyone else. Just keep doing what you need to be doing and it WILL come off.
Best of luck to you.

Hi,
I had RNY on the 12th of Sept and I lost 15 pounds the first week and a half but now these past two weeks, NOTHING!! I was so discouraged until I posted on my local forum and realized this is normal because your body is #1. Full of gas and fluid from the surgery and #2. Your body thinks it's being starved so it's not going to lose weight until the 7th or 8th week. That's what I was told and it makes sense, once your body realizes that this is the way it's going to be fed from now on, it'll adjust and you'll lose 20 or so pounds in a month but it won't be right away. I know how you feel, I am so impatient when it comes to losing weight!!
Good Luck,
Rachel
