One week post-op...still bloated??
Hey everyone,
I am one week post op. I had a RNY done laparoscopically9/8/06, and came home Monday. I haven't had any pain since last Sunday, but I still feel bloated, a little less each day, but still pretty uncomfortable. Is this normal? I am walking around the house and puttering...we just moved right before my surgery and have company coming in 2 days, so I'm trying to get at least a pathway cleared... Anyway, what else should I be doing to speed up this process. I feel like I am lazy, and sleep a lot. I don't even think I've lost any weight yet, even with the bare minimum diet... (no scale yet). Also, not to be gross or anything, but when I go to the bathroom, my bowels are still very soft and I have a LOT of gas!
Take care...from Sheri in Anchorage, AK!!
My surgery was on 9/06 and I have lost like 25 pounds so far but I am still wearing sweats and loose pants. My preop jeans and capris are uncomfortable. I was pretty bummed out but my mother, who is a nurse, said that the body will take 6 weeks to recover from something that has been so traumatic. It still doesn't make me feel better but maybe it will help you. I must say that the being tired and feeling like a lazy bum is what I have been going through but this weekend, I have begun to feel a lot better. I force (I mean really force) myself to get up and walk around the house, not really doing anything. I hope that your gas gets better, I have really loose gassy stools too but I figure that's to be expected. You take CARE ;)
