Have Surgery Date
Hi Phyllis,
Congratulations! You will be fine.
Remember what got you here and how much you want this. It is a life changing event. A positive one!
One really good piece of advice my surgeon gave me is "start your eating behavior changes now." Give up as much as you can anything white. That is bread, pasta, rice and sugar. If you need to give in to your sweet tooth. Try surgar- free jello pudding. Freeze it and blend it to make ice cream. You can pour it into popsicle molds and make fudgesicles! I tried it the other night. Not bad! A friend of mine made it really thick; stuck it in a frying pan and then made a crape. (Isn't that cool?)That will help to satisfy your sweet tooth. There are so many things you can come up with that will help curb your cravings but try not to fool yourself into having the real stuff. Even if it's a little.
You will be fine and you will be looking and feeling wonderful! Your family is reacting because they fear for you. Talk about it and educate them. I found that the more they understand the more supportive they become. In the end, it's all really up to you. Making this decision is so courageous. You made a positive step in your life that will change it forever for the better!
I'm -12 days to surgery. I had my pre-op's yesterday. I'm so excited! I've got about 110 lbs to lose. I read your profile and you don't have much more than that too! I can't wait!! Keep your chin up and best wishes. God Bless you.
Debbie
Hi Debbie,
Thanks so much for your kind words & your recipe idea....never even thought of that before. Icecream with pudding sounds wonderful but I guess you only use a tiny amount right?
I have educated as much as I can all of my family & friends & still they are trying to change my mind. My therapist told me yesterday to tell them that I appreciate what they are trying to tell me but I need their support right now not their negative thoughts. I hope they don't get very mad at me for saying this but it's the only way I thing I can do for myself to make me feel better.
I've done a whole lot of footwork for this proceedure so I know a whole lot about it.
My goodness you are very close to your surgery! I will keep you in my prayers & if you would like to write to me directly; my email address is: [email protected].
I live in PA
