I got a date! 9/11 and I got a question
That's my date too!! I've been researching protein shakes for the full liquid phase. My friend gave me some of her EAS Carb Well vanilla powder from GNC. It has a liitle bit of a funky taste to it, but not too bad. I used a 1/4 cup. I think I will use 1/8 cup next time. Anyway, you put the powder, 1 cup frozen strawberries, and a packet of Splenda or Equal in your blender and mix it up. You can add some yogurt if you like the creamy taste. The down side is it seems to be kind of pricy. My nutritionist said the Adkins shakes would be a good choice. They are low in carbs and sugar, but high in protein. They're also cheap, and you can get them anywhere. I think I will probably go with the Adkins because they are ready to drink. We will be taking in so few calories at the beginning, maybe we won't have the energy to stand over a blender!! Good luck to you.
Hi Laura,
I've tried about 4 or 5 different ones. The best and most available that I found is the Carnation Instant Breakfast 0 carbs. It's at all the grocery stores.( I love it and have been drinking it for my breakfast) There is also Boost. It is sold at the grocery stores too. There is the milk flavor boost but also the juice flavor. Some people like them. (I haven't tried it yet but bought it.)
The more expensive one that I just love is the Nectar. It is not a milky drink and is more like juices. It is awesome. I found it at a muscle building store. That was an interesting trip! LOL. But I bought the Caribbean Cooler. It tastes just like a Pina Colada. They also have Apple, Berry Mix, etc. I've read lots of other reviews on this one and many people just love it.
It really is a matter of personal taste. Good luck on your sampling and your surgery too! Mine is September 5th.
