Debbie,
What helped me with the time thing was making a list and checking it...again and again and again. It helped too that I was not offically approved by my insurance company until about a week prior to the scheduled surgery. My surgeon was quite sure I would be approved and just scheduled surgery. So, Calling the insurance company and talking with them every day helped. I also was working full time ( I live overseas) and had just moved in July so I had a lot to deal with just getting settled into a new community. Do the list thing... and best wishes for your upcoming surgery. Jacqueline
Yes, thank you all for sharing. I'm sure you all can remember the angst, nervousness, fear, excitement, etc... you felt prior to surgery. I know I'm certainly feeling that, September 7th can't come fast enough. Thankfully I've had a busy August, 2 weddings and a trade show, and boating season is upon us. All that plus work, my workouts (focusing on getting strong prior to surgery, walking every day I can, plus water aerobics and weight lifiting 3 times per week), preparing for another school year and getting everything in order (the house, paperwork, etc...) prior to surgery. It's all helping the time pass. I can now say that I am less than a month from surgery, woo hoo!!
Anyhow, we really appreciate your expericence and words of wisdom!! I hope we all have a very successful surgery and quick recovery in the month to come!

Hi Debbie, a way to get through the next few weeks - well what I did was try to get my vitamins in order, figure out what I was going to have and when. But this is also what I did, I started organizing my clothes as far as what I knew I wouldn't be wearing into the winter months (oh be sure and keep a pair of your current sized jeans - it's fun to look at them!!). And look into how to sell on eBay!! Some of my clothes were 'work' clothes and not what I would pass on to anyone in my support group, who most were stay at home moms -- so I sold a lot on ebay!! There is a huge huge market for plus size clothes. I even had things I'd never worn that I sold.
So those are just a few thoughts on getting thru these next weeks. Make a plan, on afterwards!! And have fun!!
love
