Guess everybody is busy exercising ?
Haven't seen a new posting in a while.
So hope everybody is doing well. Daughter came in last night and said the doc thinks she is having a girl !
First grand daughter...he also changed her date to Sept. 17. She is going to have to be monitered closely by her OB because she has a cyst on her ovary they have to watch. So now I know I can get some pink outfits....as long as they don't have "Tinkerbell" on them. Daughter doesn't want anything "Tinkerbell" ! So that's my news for the day.....
How about you ???

Welcome - I have no experience with the band, but I do hope you find relief. The only thing I can equate it to is the brick in the chest I get when I over eat. It is so uncomfortable (but I hope it never goes away).

Topic: RE: Plastics and Low Sugar???????
Hi Tracy - congrats on the plastics consult...I hope your insurance covers it for you -
I get that same exact feeling - I was told that it is definitely low blood sugar...I carry a protein bar in my bag at all times - I can't really eat too much of it because when I am feeling that way I am very nauseas too...so I take a bite or 2 and I'm usually okay within a few minutes. We've changed our eating habits so drastically that our bodies just can't keep up with us ... I eat very very few carbs...(I think
)
I really don't think it's anything to be concerned with overall - my surgeon told me that it's very normal for "us"
good luck with the dr...

Topic: Possibly one too many fills...
Wow this is refreshing...I have just joined this forum and already I feel better. I am 4 day's away from hitting the 18mo mark and have been stuck in between 80-83lbs (total lost) for about 3 months now
. I have received many fills along the way and think I have finally accepted that the last one was one too many. I have been telling myself for months now that I just need to learn how to eat again but it has come to the point that some day's I have trouble getting water down. Other days I can eat relatively fine but once and a while it's like it 'act's up' and I am back to liquids. I'm hoping that it is just too tight and not anything worse like band slippage. I have made an appointment for tomorrow to talk to my Dr. about it. As you can imagine the most frustrating part is realizing that this is the most the lap-band is going to help me. The rest (approx. 50lbs) I am going to have to do the good ol' fashioned way...more exercise!!! I walk approx 1- 1 1/2 hous a day (walking my dog!) but I have to admit I don't break a sweat I just walk at a comfortable pace. I know I have to push myself even harder and work on getting more fruits and veggies in my diet but it still feels pretty frustrating when I can barely get (or keep) anything down and yet I'm not loosing. Once I get this last fill removed I should be able to get some more things down, continue making healthy food choices and get back on track.
Let me know if anyone else has experienced this with the lap-band, having one too many fills? If so how did you resolve it?
Thanks for the very much needed support!

Topic: RE: Plastics and Low Sugar???????
I am sure the low sugar has happened to me too. I havent had mine tested either but girls in here told me to carry some candy with me and have a piece when it happens. As far as the tummy tuck, I just emailed a surgeon last week and this is what they said...
Heidi:
Once you are at your goal weight and not before, you would need to make an appointment for a consult to speak with the doctor. It is important to wait until you reach your goal weight because at the time of the consult, we take photos and submit them to the insurance carrier before any surgery is scheduled to see if they will pay for the procedure. So once you reach your goal, give us a call if you wish to make an appointment at 814-536-9000.
Thanks.
Tina
So that will probably take forever...well maybe not, my doctor wanted my goal to be around 141, i wanted my goal to be 125
