Topic: RE: 18 months!!
Im here too,,I havent posted here much, Im usually over at the Over Fifty Forum. I just got a letter from my doc to come for my 18 month check up. It seems like only yesterday though. I still cant get used to being a normal size. Size 14 is soooo normal!! LOL
Isnt it funny how we become so involved in life that we dont have time to post here,,when before we spent hours on here researching, reading profiles and message boards. Now we are out shopping and just living life to the fullest!
Good to see someone posting though, I do check this board from time to time,,and its usually pretty quiet.
Topic: RE: Changing Eating Habits
Oh my gosh I've been eating veggies, fruits and whole grains for a while. I make sure I get my protein, but there are sooo many more calories in meat than veggies and I too need to feel/be full.
I'm pretty much just maintaining my weight now so I'm trying to find a good balance. I've been eating about 1000 calories a day (i have thyroid issues) 60 grams of protein and 80-90 net carbs (carbs minus fiber). I also try to get 16-20 grams of fiber a day to keep things moving.

Topic: Changing Eating Habits
Hi All,
I hope everyone is well. I'm interested in your input on changing eating habits. At 18 months out, I find that I can eat much much more than I could a year and a half ago. I am finding it hard not to snack and not to eat more than I should.
In the beginning getting in protein was so important that I ate little else. An asparaus spear here and there or a bite of broccli on a rare occasion I'd have a salad. Never any fruit. This was largely to avoid the carbs and make sure I get the protein in.
As my ability to eat more has returned, I've kept these habits. Recently I've put on a few pounds. 5 or 6. Not a huge deal, I'm doing some serious weight lifting and some of it could be muscle and it has been so cold that I'm much less active. But I'm also thinking I need to alter my diet to include more fruits and vegitables. Certainly if I eat 4 oz of meat and some fruit and veggies -- It's got to have less calories than 6 or 8 oz of meat...right? Do I need to feel guilty about having an orange for a snack? Many fewer calories than a protein bar...right?? Is this ok???
Does anyone else feel like they need to relearn how to eat at 18 months or is it just me??

Topic: OT: We found a house!
As many of you know, Bob was promoted to Bradley Int'l Airport in the air traffic control tower as part of the management team. Thus, making his commute 3 hours a day from here in Westerly.
We've decided to sell and move. Well, we put the cart a bit before the horse this time and already found and contracted on a home in Windsor. It is a lovely reproduction colonial saltbox in a nice neighborhood.
We are all very excited!
We've been working our butts off getting our house here ready for market. It should go on in about a week.
If anyone knows of anyone that would like to buy a pretty, only 6 1/2 year old colonial in Westerly, RI, send them to me! We'll shave off a lot of money if we can sell it outright rather than thru a realtor. No realtors, please!
Just wanted to share our news.

hi Jacqueline,
Really, I can't believe it's been that long too. Amazing. what a great journey.
I went to my 18 month checkup today too. How did yours go?
Mine went o.k. I have to go do my labs and she felt my thyroid and said it felt large so now I have to go for an ultrsound on it. Plus my nails are peeling like crazy.
But it's all worth it, isn't it.
This board is so quite now. I really miss Donna Mae not being on.
I would be lost without this board. this is my support. today when the doctor asked it I attend support meetings I told her I come here.
Well have a great day and let's all continue our great journey.
Sincerely,
Koukla
