Hi Christine,
Sorry to hear about your weight gain. I'm also 4 years post op and have also gained weight. I have gained about 50 pounds back of the 200 I lost. However, I still feel much better then I did before the surgery. It's so unfortunate, but facts are facts, most of us that are here on this site are emotional eaters. That's pretty much how we got to the place of wls. It's so true that if we don't take care of what's eating us before the surgury then we will be eating us back to where we were. I know for me emotional eating tends to feel real good at the moment, but the long term effects that I feel when I'm done cause such an overwhelming depression that I just turn around and eat even more.

I'm thinking that the key to this might be to find a different form of comfort then food, or maybe even remove the problem that's causing the emotional distress to begin with. That might mean making a huge change in my life or just dealing with old and past issues. Who knows, but the fact is if I don't do something about my eating issue I will be back to the 400 pounds I once was. I'm thinking that this might be the case with you as well. So maybe it's time we both do some soul searching.

I hope you will feel free to let me know if there's anything I do do to help. I haven't been posting in here in a long time, but I would really like to get back to it. So please let me know how your doing and feeling and I'll try to do the same.

take care

If it's non invasive surgery...how is it performed?  Via laposcope?

I actually went to my 4 year checkup a little early because of an ulcer, but I totally forgot that this is our surgiversary month.  I have gained a lot of weight and I am pretty frustrated.  I really wish that more people still used this site so that we had each other to support ourselves.  I think at this point I need a back on track class or something-doesn't seem like anything I do helps.

Well today it has been 4 years since my gastric bypass surgery.  What a journey I have had.  My life has changed so much...for the better of course.  If I had to do it again I would do it in a heartbeat!!!  I have been hovering aroung 170 give or take some.

So Day 1 went as follows

8 oz 2% Milk with 1 scoop Protein powder (half)
Labrada RTD 14 oz.
1/2 C Minstrone soup broth
3/4 C Chicken Noodle Broth
8oz. Choc. Milk (sugar free choc syrup)

70 oz. water

During the day I felt alright, had a few hunger pangs here and there, but nothing crazy. My head was the main problem, kept telling me to eat! I chewed some gum and that helped a bit. When I woke up this morning I wasn't hungry.

Day 2 (so far)

8 oz. 2% Milk w/sugar free choc syrup
Labrada RTD 14 oz.

I have more soup to drink later on so... I will update again tomorrow

I didn't buy the book either, and I started today. So far so good, I had half a protein shake this morning and I am working on my second one right now. I'm only 5 months out but I felt like I needed to get back on track I just read the stuff on the site and searched some other message boards to find out what people ate. THe main concensus was to PLAN AHEAD. Don't leave to chance what you are going to eat for that day. I will try to remember to post what I eat each day here for you or you can send me a message to remind me lol.

Day 1- so far

8 oz 2% Milk with 1 scoop Protein powder (only drank half)

Labrada Lean Body RTD 14 oz. (about 1/2 way through the bottle)

**Planning on drinking later**
* Minstrone soup with the noodles and veggies removed, so just the broth, I have two containers of that
* Another Labrada RTD so I will probably drink that too.

Just looking for some feed back from anyone that has tried the 5 day pouch test.  I did buy the book, just got some information of the "5 day pouch test" website.
Thanks,
Monica
