Topic: RE: Sunday check in..
Been awhile since I posted here, Ive been hanging out on some of the other boards,
Im doing great at 21 months out . Ive lost almost 140 pounds, and feeling wonderful. I have bought a lot of new clothes for the summer, but mostly from thrift stores and yard sales,,but my closet is full!! Lovin' that!
Gas prices here in Indianapolis are terrible,,3.89 for premium, 3.69 for regular, needless to say Im not driving much. Glad I dont hold a job right now!! Getting ready to go on vacation next month though,,so gotta start saving some extra gas cash.
Glad to see your pregnancy is going well,,that is so exciting. I had 5 of my own and cherished every minute I was pregnant,,I felt so feminine then.
Thanks for the post,,,we need to keep this board alive!!
Blessings
Betsy
Topic: RE: I bought a bike & my weekend activities.
I got my bike fixed about a month ago, but haven't ridden as much as I'd like because of the weather here. Seems like all of the beautiful days are the ones I'm stuck at work doing OT.
I've been sitting out in the sun trying to get 30min a day of exposure, and I'm actually getting some tan lines. I *never* have tan lines - I have that porcelain complexion that was ever so popular about 200 years ago, so the first time I realized I had them, I was so excited. "LOOOK - I have tan lines" (as I'm pointing out to people where my skin goes from snow-white to off-white.)

I developed a hernia late last year, and right about the same time, my weight loss came to slow stop. I was down to 147.6 for 2 seconds one day, and hit 149.6 about three different times. Now, I'm 155 +/- 5lbs on any given day. My high weight was 277 and my surgery weight was 260.7 so I've maintained that 100 lb loss. Would like to get to betwen 112 - 132, but I suspect that won't happen until after the hernia is repaired.
Finding I can do things I wasn't expecting - like run on a treadmill, and I didn't get that sharp pain in my side that I used to get as a kid when I ran.
I took a motorcycle class about three weeks ago, and am looking at getting a small motorcycle to start with......and then get a bigger one as I get more experience.
I bought a tennis racket yesterday - nothing big or expensive, but I have it, and even know of a couple of places to find people to play with.
My D is better, but still low, so I'm now taking the 50MU daily for six weeks, and 3x a week after that. It went from 7 to 14, but I want it over 40.
I've been pretty solidly in a size twelve for about 8 months now, with a few 10's and 14's thrown in for good measure. If it's a normal women's size, I wear a medium. If it's juniors, I'm XL. If it's mens, I'd be an XS if they made such a thing.
Oh, and I'm remodeling my condo. I need to email the painter tomorrow, and tell him that yes I liked the color he recommended, and let's go! Then I need to contact Home Depot and say WTF?? I paid for a carpet measure last Wednesday, and haven't gotten a call to setup an appointment - the sale ends on the 31st, so they'd better not think they're going to wait until June 1st and then tell me it's too late.
Oh.....and I've started a blog, if anyone wants to read it - it's called Unicorns & Stranger Things http://unicornshadows.blogspot.com It's not really about weight loss or WLS, but more about my life in general, and the people I know.

isn't pregnancy amazing????
And the eating. it's not that you want to, it's the baby calling for it. It really is.
Breast feeding really does help. just make sure you get yourself following the gastric bypass rules right after and it should all come off. detoxing from carbs is always hard. but hey, we did it before you can do it again.
So you're 6 1/2 months now? And you're feeling good. that is so good.
Do you expect her in Sept.? Wouldn't that be funny if you have her on your surgery date? that would be something.
My neice is pregnent too and she is so funny. She will tell us that the baby gets so hungry that she has to eat something right then and there. Ah I remember those days.
I've been doing good. I've been basicly following the rules. and I have been maintaining. So I'm happy with that. I still go to the gym. I try to get there at least 3 times a week. We have had great weather here in Ct. and of course gas prices are thru the roof. I paid 3.55 a gallon the other day. that hurt.
Have a great Mem. Day tomorrow. We're going to a graduation.

Notice I didn't say weigh in...lol
I just wondered how everyone was doing? Our family here is about so much more then just what we weigh,So that being said.
How is your weather, your gas prices, your excersize routine , what have you had good to eat latley, buy anything new and pretty to wear this summer?
Whatever you want to add , just let us all know how your doing.
I'm at 26 weeks now or should I say bean is..lol and about 2 lbs and 14 inches long, but no sonogram last month so we don't know for sure.
I have been going to the endocrinologist every week and so far all my numbers still avrage about 85, The girl wanted to do an A1C on me because she was sure with being pregnant and eating more that is had to have gone up since my numbers were not being watched. It went from 5.2 in Jan down to 4.8 in may. I said to her SEE I KNOW my body..lol
I been walking more and doing more outside now that the weather is better most days,I have had issues with overheating a few times but nothing i couldn't fix with some cool water. I went from 16/18 tops to now being in 18/20 maternity tops and just stayed with the shorts and stuff I had last summer , still big but i'm sure by sept they won't be.
As far as eating, I'm NOT a good example here, It's more like what won't I eat now.
The other day for dinner I felt like I was starving and had a whole sloppy joe with the bun and 2 slices of cheese and 1/2 cup baked beans, for me that is ALOT of food compared to pre pregnancy, I decided that starting in Aug I am going to start cutting out some carbs and the "junk", yes I have been eating junk now and then too.
I want to start getting back on track in august so once bean comes it won't be so much of an adjustment, and I'll have no excuses. Once bean joins the outside world and isn't effecting my body so much I will need to see the diatition again to go over how I am eating to balance the numbers once again.
I'm up to 290 now at the midwifes office , they are happy and she told me now I can plan on 4 lbs a month till bean gets here, I really don't want to ever see 300 again but I keep telling myself it will only be for a couple of weeks at this rate and breastfeeding should help cure that (I hope)
Come on lets get caught up !
Love to you all,
Shel and bean

I had a baby 4 months ago, so I've definitely lost more weight!
I had been hovering around 145-150 then got *really* sick over Mother's Day. Now I'm at 140-142.

Haha that's exactly how I felt when my exhusband found me on myspace. He didn't leave because I was fat or anything but I still loved it that I look so much better now. Helps men to see what they missing since they are visual creatures.

I reached my goal of 130 in November of last year and have ranged from 125-129 since then. I don't have any more to lose so I'm just trying to perfect maintaining and seem to be doing pretty well. I am happy with my weight I just wish I could get PS on my thighs, yuck!
