Topic: Checking in... and some things never change
Hi all, I have been hiding in my cave lurking for a while. Sorry! Just wanted to check in with a few pics and to let you know I'm doing fine, maintaining at 125. Getting so tired of men, dating, they are all turning out to be disappointments. Maybe I'm at an age (32) when they've already got lots of baggage or are in some other way not right for me. Sorta was under the "spell" that this would be easier after losing 100 pounds... but it's not, just different, not any less easy for me. Anyway, that's all for now. Keep at it girls!

I'm doing great. Still hanging in there and maintaining my goal weight (or better) for 7 months now! Was 126.5 this morning. I can wear a size 4 in ladies, 7 in juniors or 16 in little girls, it feels great! I really haven't bought many new clothes but a lady who sits with my great grandma during the day has a daughter my size and she gave me a TON of clothes for free! I got shorts, capris, tops, jammies, etc so that was great. I have bought two bathing suits. There is a pic in my gallery of the first one I bought, still need to get a pic of the second one (just got it today). I also got a straightening iron so I can straighten my own hair now which is exciting for me because everyone is always telling me how much they love it straight. That's about it for me I guess. Gas here in my town was $3.23 when I got some today. Oh yeah I am training for a FULL marathon (26.2 miles) in September the day after my 2 year surgery anniversary....the 8th. I am very excited about that. I am up to 14 miles in my training right now, it increases by two miles every other week and I'm doing great so far. Ok that's it!!

Wow, I can't imagine how you handled so much loose skin. I am so very happy for you to be rid of it. You'll feel and look like a new woman. Congrats and wishing you a speedy recovery!

Topic: RE: Iron and Calcium
I recently had reconstructive surgery and went thru hell and am very anemic at this time. So I was told to take an iron supplement. I was only taking 65 mg. a day and just found out I need to take that 3 times a day. Anyway, I was also told taking Vitamin C helps with the absorption of the iron. I take the Iron and I make sure that I have 2 to 3 hours before I take my Calcium. Good luck and best wishes.

Hey Shelly, I know we're all different and all, but just wanted to chime in... I was told by a couple of post-ops how shocked I would be at how much more I could eat while I was pregnant. It was amazing! I could eat such larger amounts - which makes NO sense, with there being physically less room and all! I was also told how quickly it would return to normal after delivering the baby. I swear, I was eating my previously normal amounts before I left the hospital! I totally understand the weight gain also. I was around 155 when I got pregnant and told my husband I wasn't sure how I'd take seeing 180 again. I knew that it would be ok and that the weight would come off, but I wasn't prepared for how hard seeing those numbers again, would be. And your blood sugar. I refused the GTT which my Dr didn't like at all - mainly because my other son was over 10 lbs (even though my bld sugar was FINE). Still, ya know dr's... So when this one popped out at over 10 lbs also, I could tell she wanted to say, "told ya so!" but once again, all bld sugars turned out fine once again. We just make really big boys! So really, nothing to add, just wanted to say hang in there. I totally understand what you're going through. I had no intentions of getting pregnant at 6 months out - or whatever it was. And I certainly understand the challenges!

Hello to all. I know it is not Sunday anymore but oh well, I always get the posts a few days late. I am still in Germany and doing well. I am not obsessed with the scale anymore but still watch carefully what I eat: PROTEIN< PROTEIN< PROTEIN and lots of water. I am still exercising 5 days a week: although had to cut back on mileage from about 4 to 3-3 and a half miles running. BUt that is still great for me. I am happy to hear that your pregnancy is going so well and "bean" is growing. Best wishes for continued HEALTH. Oh, Gas prices here are outrageous. I get to buy my gas on the American Military base where I work and it is 370 a gallon for super unleaded. If I buy it off Base, the Germans are paying way over $5.00 a gallon and have been paying that for years!! So we shouldn't complain much!! Best to all, jacqueline
