Topic: Snacking
Hi all, Up till now, I've been really really good about not snacking. I just didn't do it. Then I went on this hiking vacation and realized that because of the extreme exertion, I was going to need to eat more, which I did by adding snacks on the hikes. Following the hikes we went to nice resturants -- where I ate what I wanted except -- no sugar. I didn't gain any weight on the vacation and in fact when I got home was down a pound or two....BUT, I find that now that I'm home, I'm eatting more and just can't seem to stop myself from grabbing a bite of something at snack times. I just can't seem to find the discipline not to, the other thing I'm doing is eatting to much. Several times recently, I"ve eatten past the point of comfortably full and had to vomit. These don't seem like good developments. I know I need to get my head back to where I was before vacation. So far, I'm still within my weight buffer zone, but I can easily see it changing. A couple of things that might be influencing this problem is the week I got back from vacation my monthly flow started and I traditionally eat more then...also, I've got career decisions to make which is making me slightly nervous. Any advice, I could use a kick in the butt. Thanks Courtney

Topic: simple challenge
I want to post a simple challenge. For today only pick one thing that you need to accomplish and come here a brag about it. If you thing is to drink all your water and you do, but end up eating cookies in the mean time oh well ... good for you for drinking your water. Then pick another thing for tomorrow.... etc. This way we have positive reinforcement on the good we are doing. For me I usually elliptical for 45 minutes with a 5 minute cool down. I struggled through and had to convince myself every 5 minutes to just make it another 5. I managed to make it all the way to the end of my work out.

Hi Pam, a great big WOW for you!! That is fantastic. Who would have thought a year ago even, right. I'm so proud of you Pam. You're certainly not as old as me (who is on this board -- no one!!!) but here's to the over 50 gang!! Way to go. I'm totally jealous because it seems this weekend I had a back step and didn't seem to do as well on my walking as I had. Maybe limping or dragging my foot a little more than usual. Greg said I had overdone it at therapy on Friday cause it's been bad since then - all I know is it was discouraging!! Keep it up girlfriend!! love donna

Congratulations... Funny how we still envision not being able to fit into things. You probably not only fit into the harness, I bet they had to tighten it for you....Love to hear stories of people going out and doing the unusual and/or daring.... don't know how I would be with a wall climb. donna
