Topic: Did you know?
Do you guys realize that we are 15 months out from surgery, and we will most likely stop losing weight at 18 months? That's what my surgeon told me, the magic "number" was 18 months. I am happy with my weight, but it took me by surprise that so much time has passed already. I just wanted to give us a heads-up.

Whew, glad it's not just me! We had our corporate Christmas party this past Saturday and I ate everything on my plate! I was satisfied, and then panicked when I realized I was okay! But then I took stock of what I ate (a dab of mashed potatoes with gravy, one skinny slice of turkey, maybe a 1/4 cup salad with dressing, a few green beans, but NO ROLL). I was okay, and was totally okay skipping dessert. I am actually happy to be on the more normal side, but it did give me quite a shock at first!

Emily,
Your blog was fabulous and Oh! The Pictures! Isn't it wonderful to be able to enjoy that wonderful family and move and do things with them? You and your crew look healthy, happy and beautiful.
Merry Christmas!

lol....trust me...I've learned shopping. I've done so much clothes shopping this year!!!!
But I always like avenue's selection and style. I understand they are owned by Learners...but there isn't one of them close. On the otherhand I don't miss Lane Bryant or Dress Barn at all. Although I did have the surreal experience of shopping on the Other side of dress barn last weekend. When I went looking for panty hose--which I haven't bought since surgery, and always needed a bigger size than the box said...the lady says "oh no honey those aren't your size...go to the other rack"
Very funny

good morning!
last month at my surgeon's support group meeting someone said that same exact thing - they miss Avenue and no longer know how to shop...Avenue was my staple - if I needed something for a party or for work or for the holidays they always had SOMETHING for me to wear...it was quick and easy. I have to say I do NOT miss going into that store at all - I have learned how to shop (almost too well ) in all the other stores now that I can wear "normal" sizes -
I don't miss the store - I miss the ease and convenience of being able to go to one store to shop - well maybe I don't really miss it so much

Barb,
Thanks for posting about this...last night we went to Olive Garden and I had some salad and had ordered the Asiago Chicken w/ roasted potatoes. I ate about 3/4 of the chicken and 3 pieces (large bite size) of potatoes...I began to worry that I had eaten too much (I had a pretty large amount of salad to begin with)...then I thought, that I am supposed to be eating more than just a few ounces now...So, I stopped at 3/4 of the piece of chicken and 3 pieces of potatoes...and was fine...not over stuffed and miserable like I would have been pre-surgery.
Glad to see that there are others of us doing the same thing.

I'm very happy with my WLS--but there is one thing I miss.
I used to love the clothes at AVENUE. It was my favorite store. I could always find something I liked that looked good. And they still send me cupons for all of those great deals. Now I don't wear those sizes--I really miss that store.
Topic: RE: FUN FUN FUN!!
Hi SS -- I think you're right. It was the knowing what to get them that makes it fun. I can't remember if I did that, so whoever has me -- I LOVE EVERYTHING!!!
Hope you are having a fun time with your sweetheart!!
love
