How much does size matter to you ?
Clothing wise...I mean ? How many of you have gone shopping lately ? Since my journey I have picked up 2 pair of pants 2 tops and some unmentionables . When I wear the clothes I have had before ( too big on me) I have found that I feel as big as I did before surgery. If I put on something that fits me better I feel so much better about myself. I would love to go out and do some more shopping but feel it will probably be a waste because in a few months I will giving them away because they are too big. I walked by some shorts at the store the other day thinking " should I get them" and answered myself " nah , you have some that fit, a little big , but they fit " I am a stay at home mom/grandmom so it's not like I need to get new clothes but I would like to wear something that fit once in a while. Give me a good reason to go out and " Charge it !"

I have to have SOME things that fit! It doesn't have to be perfect, but when I turn the pants down at the waist band and the legs look like ole english riding breeches--it's time for a new pair!
I use the local consignment store, bum hand me downs off my relatives and hey-- I see you're in PA...have you tried Gabriel brothers? I figure...I have quit spending that $20.00 a week on junk food and eating out fast food---so I can spend at least that much each week on clothes.
Have fun trying some new things.
I also found out I didn't KNOW what I liked to wear. I was wearing all these flowing drapey things and come to find out..I like tailored shirts and Khaki pants. Who knew?

I bought 2 new pairs of jeans and a couple of shirts. I did buy jammies tho, I love jammies. I don't want to waste a lot of money on clothes that are going to be too big before long (I hope anyway). So I trade off between my big pants and ones that fit. Some are so big I can't wear them cause they will fall straight down. My mom keeps giving me her "old" stuff (there isn't a day that goes buy that she's not shopping). I figure that when I'm at goal or I stop losing, I'll really shop and Visa had better watch out!!

Hi Sandy,
Size does matter to me! I have bought about 4 or 5 different sized jeans since my journey began. I went from a 30/32 to now needing a size 18W...NO MORE ELASTIC PANTS EVER AGAIN FOR ME!!!
The last two pairs are now getting loose, but i'm going to stretch the amount of time I can wear them a bit longer. They are a size 20W..
I've bought a handful of shirts, each coming down in size. I'm in a 16/18W right now in shirts (started at a 30/32) I find that if I have a shirt on that fits "right" I feel SO much better. I'm in a BIG old shirt today and feel sloppy and messy. I can't believe that I used to be as big as I was.
For summer, I've not yet started to look at shorts/tops. No swimsuits either. I'm going to wait and see. I don't have anything that will fit at all, so it will definately be a shopping trip, for sure.
I was lucky and had a fellow WLS friend give me 4 HUGE bags of clothes, but only could take about one bags worth because she was a petite and I'm 5'8"! I did manage a beautiful chiffon dress that I'll be wearing to my daughter's First Holy Communion this Sunday. Saved myself a hundred bucks! I hold it up and cannot believe how tiny (well, smaller) it is!

All I can say is """THRIFT STORE"""". I never shopped at thrift stores before...mainly because nothing would have fit my fandanny. Since the surgery I have bought everything except for my skivies from the thrift.
Every new size is about $40 worth of clothes, and I am good. Now, I do wear scrubs for work and have to go the WalMart for those, but that's about it. The only brand NEW things I have bought were a bathing suit for my trip to Disney, and an Old Navy TeeShirt...couldn't resist the temptation and that it actually fit me LOL.
I have bought name brand things at the thrift...Nautica, Polo, Tommy, Liz...sure wouldn't be able to afford that for the quick minute I am in that size. Just thought I would suggest the thrifting Good luck...

I'm the same way. I did buy two new slacks and two new tops plus I have found some of my old clothes from before on my way up the scale.
But I do love the way I feel with clothes that fit. but they don't fit that long. I bought the slacks in the beginning of March and they are already baggy on me.
So I'm holding out a little longer unless I could find something that's cheap.
Today at work I wore a top that I wore at 110 pounds more. And you are right about it making you feel as big as I did before surgery.
But maybe we just deserve to treat ourselves. why not????
let's go. CHARGE!!!!!
How about a guys point of view.
SIZE MATTERS.
Now about clothes... Thank goodness I'm now small enough to purchase at the local irregular's store. I can get me new jeans every couple of weeks for $10. I don't have any shirts that fit "right" but I'm making me one on Saturday. (Yes ladies, I'm a man that can sew. Love me.) I'll take pictures after I fini****
Now, you go out and find you a cheapo store to buy a pair or two of shorts that fit right! Then come in here and BRAG about what size you bought!
Like this:
I WENT FROM A 64 PANT TO A 42 PANT.
See! That makes it all worthwhile.
