Hi Christine,
First congrats on your surgery and welcome to the "losing" side.
As for what to eat for breakfast, well I'm not sure what stage you are on, but don't limit yourself to "breakfast" foods. If I did that I would have a hard time. I am not an egg person. I am not crazy about oatmeal or cream of wheat either.
Usually for me (even at almost 2 yrs out) a protein shake is my breakfast. That being said, you can have anything that is allowed on your plan, don't let the time of day limit your choices.
I have had cottage cheese, thin sliced deli meat and sliced cheese rolled up, chicken, even high protein pudding for breakfast. My tastes change from day to day. What was good yesterday, may sound really yuck today. You will probably find that out for yourself.
Just remember if it is allowed by your surgeon and you can tolerate it, it doesn't matter what the clock says---if you want it, go for it.
Take care.
Hugs,
Terri

Christine, I am afraid I am rather bland. I have a protein shake first thing in the a.m. to get me going (around 7 ish). Then around 10ish I have a bowl of oatmeal (to keep me going in another way). I do this every day and haven't gotten bored yet. I look at scrambled eggs and want to , but I can do poached eggs. Other option is to make them into egg salad.
Good luck and it was nice meeting you Thursday night. Hope to see you and Julie again!

Well, I was able to handle the Egg Beater's no problem, scrambled and cut into tiny pieces, and chewed well. Thank goodness because I was tired of oatmeal and grits, and I DO love soup for breakfast (it was actually my routine breakfast pre-op) but since I eat it later in the day, I want to have something different in the morning.
Terri, I am two weeks post-op, and one day! The things I find I am having trouble digesting are weird random things that no one else seems to have a problem with. Go figure.
Susann, it was great to meet you, too, girl! Y'all are SUCH a blessing to be with- so supportive, helpful, and FUNNY! I look forward to my Thursday nights now.
Becky, you are doing well, hmm? A SF fudgesicle? I didn't even think of that- yum! I am experimenting with some of the softer soups that are not actually cream soups- like Bacon and Bean, and Lentil. Really good to switch up flavors. If I had to eat cream of chicken or cream of broccoli one more time, I think I'd cry. I love them, but I don't want to get sick of them. After a couple of weeks, you will be wanting variety, too. I am only beginning to really want something more solid, so any suggestions you can share will help me switch it up so I don't get puree burn-out!
Thanks, Ladies!
Blessings and Hugs!
Christine
