Protien bars
I eat a protein bar most weekdays at work between breakfast and lunch. I normally only eat yogurt for breakfast which is 80cals and i was getting hungry before lunch. My dietician recommended I eat a protein bar. I use the South Beach, usually chocolate peanut butter or the new flavor carmel peanut. I do think they are good but they certainly don't make me crave sweets. And they are not "candy" just because they happen to taste decent, the provide almost 20g of protein, several vitamins and minerals and in my case enough calories to make up for my breakfast. They are nothing to be afraid of unless you really do have a problem with craving sweets and you abuse them...anything can be bad if you eat it too much. I have not had any problems with them as far as dumping but you do have to watch the sugar amounts in various brands.
Hi Donna. I eat one power crunch French Vanilla a day. Most of us don't at enough to worry about calories and if you are exercising then you burn most of the calories anyway. The sugar in power crunch is 4 grams, I spoke to my nutritionalist and she said they are fine. I still get my protein with my shake and with the protein bar. I get 42 grams with my shake and then my bar and whatever else eat throughout the day. Like I said I eat 1 a day normally and I have lost 111 lbs, so I don't that it hurts anything.
