I'm a lurker...but
Hi everyone!
I am a constant lurker. I check this board at least twice a day and most of the time more. I read everything However, I am terrible at actually posting.
I love to look at everyone's pictures and thought some might be interested to see some new ones on my profile.
I am having a lot of the same problems that I have read from you all. I have all of a sudden been starving. I can all of a sudden consume more food. I am really trying to stay with the protein snacks, but the carb snacks are so much easier for me to tolerate. I have not even tried to eat any candy or really any sugary things at all. I am afraid to even put it in my mouth. But I love crackers!
I have been eating something about every 3-4 hours. I have just been hungry by then. And, the nutritionist had told me to not go more than that because blood sugars could drop. I am not diabetic. Well, the losing had slowed down so I was trying to just eat the 3 meals and a small snack. Well, I was having a terrible time with being lightheaded. In my wisdom--lol--thought it was from not eating often enough. So I went back to eating every couple of hours. Come to find out...from my 6 month blood work...I am severly iron deficient. Instead of my one little iron tab a day...I have to now take 5 tabs a day.
I guess I say all of that to say, that I have "conditioned" myself to eat frequently...small amounts...but frequently. Now I am going to try to just eat the 3 meals and a snack and see what happens. I think I can hold a bit more food at the meals now to help me go longer in between meals.
How often are you eating?
I keep all my food within the standards of: solid food not greater than 10 grams of sugar per serving and liquids not greater than 25 grams of carbohydrates. And really, I make sure that everything falls into both of those standards.
So far it has worked... I have lost 120 pounds...still have a ways to go, but hopefully I will get there
So, for just a lurker...I am a windy one
Have a great day!

Hi Tracy,
Congrats on your hard work. You look great!
As for frequency, I eat for the most part three times a day, breakfast being just a protein shake five days a week. Sometimes I'll have small snack, but usually not.
Anyway, I'm at a MAJOR stall right now and so who knows, maybe smaller snacks throughout the day instead of meals is a better approach. I'm looking at really upping my exercise and switching back to only protein and/or protein shakes until I rev up my losing streak again.
Good luck and congrats again on your success!
Holly
Hi Michelle,
Well I'm not sure if it will do the trick or not, but I figure it's worth a shot! Maybe going back to basics so to speak will get things revved up. I know it's far too easy for me to rely on "easy" things to eat. I'm going to give it a whirl anyway, doing more shakes and being stricter on protein only. I KNOW increased exercise will help in more ways than one, at any rate, so we'll see...
Good luck to you. I know how frustrating it can be. I'm feeling pretty down about it myself, so I hope that if I kick myself in the butt and do what I know to do--at least I'll have no excuses.

Hi Tracy, welcome -- and post more often. We're a really nice group!! You look awesome!!! Whatever you're doing, I think you're doing it right. I have finally figured out that I am just going to lose as fast as I did in the first few months. Just isn't happening. But I am losing - slow, but losing.
Have a good day, Tracy, and post more!!
love
