Thanks for your post, you are SO right. I do really good on water (80-100oz daily), vitamins (religiously), exercise (AT LEAST 30min AT LEAST 6x/week) and getting in my protein (about 80g/day) but I do not always make the healthiest food choices. Even if I am eating the right amount of calories and protein and having no sugar that doesn't necessarily mean I'm eating as healthy as I could be. I commit to do better!!
Also I forget who mentioned 550 calories...that is REALLY low you need to eat more for sure. My dietician says at our stage we should be 1000-1200 calories per day. I really only track calories and protein but try to get 1000 cals and 80g protein (55-65 required for me).
i know this may sound strange... but FOR ME it has been not what I can or cannot eat-- i can eat basically ANYTHING i want, including candy, red meat, etc. It is the PORTION SIZE. I estimate that I eat 1/3rd of what I used to eat. Also, EXERCISE is key. I usually go to the gym 4-5x/wk on average.
I feel that my surgery has been a GREAT SUCCESS. Of course, I have the same doubts as everyone else. I am not worried at all about losing MORE weight. I just dont want to gain weight!! If I didnt lose another pound I would be more than happy, so long as i didnt gain any back.
So far I am minus: 132 lbs, 13" on waist, 2 1/2" on neck, suit size from 56/58 to 46.
I cant be more pleased.
Oh well, that's just my opinion.
Good luck All.

Hi Shel,
I have lost more than ever with the surgery and i do go swimming at least 3 times or more a week...but with the bad weather, mostly just walking. Also ended up with the flu so had about a week i did absolutely nothing.
But i did cheat once.....and it was not really a bad cheat...but one that the surgeon did say not to do and that was I had a diet pepsi *gasp* I had made it to 6 months out and it was a first..and ya know, it didn't taste that good to me any more. So the other one is still in my brother's fridge!!!! He bought it for me not remembering i wasn't supposed to drink it. And i shouldn't have but you know, i really don't miss it. In fact the bubbles felt strange!!! Reminded me of the way Poprock candy feels!!!!!!!! LOL
Anyway, I don't plan to do it again. My diet does now include potatoes------so i had a half of a red potato and am not buying any more..they weren't as good as i thought they were!!!! So it is funny how things have changed!
Did your tastes change like that too? I do sugar free stuff .... always have cause i was a diabetic..but not any more!
