Fat turn to muscle ?????
Okay here is the deal. I have increased all my excercise now to an hour a day. 20 minutes treadmill 30 minutes ellipical 5 x a week. ( Ab Lounge ) other minor excercise. I am wondering. Is my fat turning to muscle. Am I going to lose anymore weight and turn into a musclar man. I noticed I am seeing alot of muscle. My upper part of my stomach is flat. ( I even had open surgery) I see 2 LITTLE abs and my ribs. My legs are musclar. I dont want to look like China, The lady wrestler. I do want to look like a woman. I still have a lower pouch and am working on that. My arms are doing wonderful. But since I have increased my excercise weight loss has slowed. Can someone give me opinions on this. Am I turning my fat all into one heavy muscle.
Thanks
Barb
Barb,
I was wondering the same thing. Mind you don't seem to have as much muscle as you do, but when I had hurt my back and wasn't exercising I was losing like 4 pounds a week. The last 2 weeks since I have been exercising again I have lost hardly anything and think I may be starting another stall. Did you see the April Challenge? You should join us!! It is going to be fun. I think we should find a new challenge every month to try to accomplish.

Hey Barb,
YES, you are turning fat into mucsle and muscle weighs more than fat...but do not panic..>That is a good thing in the long run. Muscles burn more fat ... Yes, It will slow the weight loss down a little but no flabby skin will be the result and you will need less plastic surgery. I am dying of envy at your hard work right now. I keep trying to get to the gym and work out but am so phobic of being seen in there..I work on a military base in Germany where everyone there is in their 20's and LOOK GREAT!! No fat people allowed!! Ha ha... anyway, keep up the good work and know you are doing good. jacqueline
jacqueline,
to heck with the youngsters! let them take a lesson from YOU and admire you for what you are doing for yourself. Really out to change for the better!
But, I too have a gym phobia, afraid to "screw up" and embarrass myself.
I pay 50 bucks to the YMCA each month and NEVER have gone.
I walk though.

Just thought I'd jump in here. I too joined the YMCA in the hopes of getting into an exercise routine. I was nervous about being fat, clumsy and dorky looking. But you know what? There are all types of people there, from the skinny little 20 somethings to senior citizens and everyone in between. They offered an introduction to the weight machines one on one with the program director (which I took) and never looked back. I have even become brave enough to take water aerobics through our YMCA and overcame my fear of wearing a bathing suit. I found that all body types and sizes took the class and it has actually been fun! The Y is a great tool - PLEASE take the plunge and start using it. You'll love it!
Barb we just had this discussion about the eliptical. One of the girls legs had gone up in size. The personal trainer said it was the eliptical if you do it everyday it will build a big muscle in your thigh. I do the eliptical about 2-3 times a week then other things. I dont think the treadmill will do that. Ive also been doin some pilates (killer) they have exercises for long lean muscle which doesnt give you the bulk.
