April Challenge:)
Hey Kelly,
You can count me in to. Not quite sure what you want the spreadsheet to show but I can make one and keep track of things if you want me to. Maybe Micheal can tell me how to incorporate it so everyone can look at it and not just me. If anyone has any ideas on what you would like me to keep track of besides name weight and how far we walked(do you want daily or weekly?)I can make something up. Granted I am not as gifted as Micheal with the computer, but I will try.
Christine
Hi Kelly
Sorry not much of a walker here. I had back surgery in January and have now been told I have a residual neuropathy in my right foot. In everyday language the top of my foot is numb and some of the muscles don't work real well. So, I'll be walking along and all of the sudden I will trip. Waaaahhhhhhhh......
I do water aerobics instead. That's my bag. I go everyday that I can. This last 10 days or so the pool has been down because the heater was broken. Wow has that ever made a difference in the weight loss!!! Not doing as well, let that be a lesson to me!
What I really wanted to input is that there is a website where you can track your steps as you walk. And it gets posted on a map. Like for instance the Appalachian Trail. It's www.americaonthemove.org.
It's free, and it is neat to see your progress on a map. Check it out
Stay with the program, YOU KNOW YOU CAN!!!

Hello again,
Just checked in to see if there were any more takers..woohoo! Isn't this exciting? Pat, I here ya abou****ching t.v. while walking. That's what I do, occassionally...NOW, it'll be daily! Donna, 45 miles huh? You can make 60, I'm sure! If I can, anyone can. Christine, it would be AWESOME if you did the spreadsheet for us. That would REALLY help. Thanks for volunteering! I know nothing about those things. I hate to bug Michael with it, since he does so much, but if he could point you in the right direction, that would be plus. Concerning the check-ins, I don't mean the spreadsheet would have to be updated daily, just that we could all check up on each other and record our results for the day. That way we don't stray from the challenge. At least that's what I need, daily reinforcement. Nancy, so sorry you have neuropathy in your foot. I hear that is very painful. I've taken care of a few people who had it and they suffer, so my prayers are with ya. I checked out the website, that's cool! I'm going to have to delve in deeper when I get a chance. I'd looove to do water aerobics, but the closest inside pool is 30 min. away.
Okay guys, tomorrow is the big day! Let's really do this thing. I'm sure everyone of us have the same dreams in the long run ...to look good and be comfy in normal size clothes, have a fun summer, free of self-conscious tugging of our clothes, look better in a bathing suit than we have in years...Everyone has a certain event they want to look "hot" for. Mine is simple. Yearly, we have a Fourth of July Carnival where everyone and their dog shows up, people you know, people you haven't seen since high school, etc. I would like to be proud of the way I look for a change and not feel like hiding.
Hugs~

I am committed to eat 3 instead of 2 meals a day, and hope to excersize at LEAST 3 times a week!!!!
It looks like we started out in same size(me a little bigger..)
I was in 30/32 STRETCH pants, NO JEANS, andNOW can wear 22's, and they are starting to get big, so say my co-workers....

I'll Join you too !
I wanted to get more motivated now that spring is here and having a whole group of friends to be doing it with will make it fun too.
I would like to be down to 290 by the end of April but I would be happy just getting under 300, I am now at 322 So we shal see.
And for those who are not walking but volinteered to be cheer leaders , THANK YOU . Everyone knows that every winning team begins with great cheerleaders
Hugs all,
Shel
Welcome to the future skinny-minnie's club everyone! Thanks a bunch Tanya for being a cheerleader. Like Shel said, we really need those to stay motivated! I'm very happy to see so many showed interest in this challenge! Okay, so today, I have walked a total of 1.5 miles so far. I'll get the other 1/2 in before bed. I've been outside most of the day because it is sooo beautiful and springy. We've went to the park, bought my parents an easter basket (they've both been very sick since Oct.) & I jumped and wrestled with my daughter on our trampoline in the backyard. I'd say I'm a bit giddy! NEVER before would I have done this type of thing, but my body is so much more comfortable now, since I've lost some weight. Thank God we have a privacy fence out there or the neighbors would really think I'd flipped.
Okay, so, how are you all doing today? Anyone else enjoying the weather and getting their exercise in? Enjoy it!
Later~
Kel
