Anyone get this comment?
Went to get my haircut today. I was telling the hairdresser all about hair falling out and that phase was finally over and hair was coming back. She just looked stunned and said well how long ago was surg. I told her sep. She said how much have you lost and i told her. Her jaw hit the floor. She said YOU COULDNT POSSIBLY HAVE BEEN THAT BIG!!! Im like trust me i was. She said well you dont look like youd ever have been overweight. (thinking to myself i still qualify as obese). It does give you a warm fuzzy to have people think its so impossible that you could have ever been there, and a huge sense of accomplishment too.
Just when i was feeling down God sent me a little comment via the hairdresser. Thank You God.
Everyone have a super monday.

Funny I had the exact same thing happen with my hairdresser. I was telling her about the hair loss and that it should be getting better soon. Her commets was something like you don't look like someone who could have been heavy.
I don't because I lost it already..... haha.
I still have another 40 more to go.

Hi Tammy, well I had something that happened yesterday that sort of was along the same lines. I'm not sure how to feel!! I was showing my husband the side by side pictures that Michael did of me (will be in my profile soon) and my husband said, looking at the before picture, I don't even remember you like that, I just think of you as how you look now. I was surprised because I ONLY think of myself in that way (the before) and have trouble looking at now and thinking it's me. But the other thing is this is my husband that I've been married to for 23 years and most if not all of those years have been overweight and he doesn't think of me like that??? What does that mean. I can't believe he's forgotten that look. Should I be insulted!!!
love

One of the women on the DS board had something like that happen - she hasn't told anyone she's had surgery, so while some people recognize there's something different, they can't always put their finger on it. After she'd lost about 100lbs, a normal-sized woman she knows said "there's something different about you", to which the DS'er replied "I colored my hair", and the lady went "THAT'S what it is".
I know when I first met my best friend, she gained about 50-75lbs over the course of a year, and I didn't even notice - because the things I *did* notice about her (her smile, her personality, etc) hadn't changed.
Hi Tammy
I saw someone the other day that I used to work with. I hadn't seen him since around Christmas. As I was walking by I said " not busy huh?" He came up to me and said I thought it was you but wasn't sure ! You really changed " That made me feel really good to see that someone else noticed besides hubby. My kids don't say anything so I figure since they are around me all the time they don't notice it that much. I know how you feel

Yep, I can relate to that comment!
recently my daughter put together some before and duriing pictures of me,,when my son saw em he said Mom,,I didnt ever see you as big,,you were just ...Mom!! But wow!!
Then my best friend saw them and said the same thing,,she said I guess I never realized how big you were, but you sure look great now.
My Pastors wife made my day Friday. She sat down beside me at my grnd daughters 18th birthday party and said.."I just want to tell you how great you look! I told my husband,,out of the three people in our church who have had the surgery and lost a lot of weight,,Betsy looks the best. She amazes me,,and she looks so healthy! You are doing great girl!" These people have known me for 35 years and seen me struggle with all the different diets,,so they are so happy for me. But when I showed her the pictures,,she could not believe I ever looked like that. its funny isnt it. we cant forget,,and they cant remember!!
