Huge mistake!!!
Please tell me someone has done this and it will pass!!!
I am almost 6 months post-op and yesterday I ate a biscuit after church and was really thirsty and gulped down some water. As soon as I did it, I knew, this was a ...
OH MY GOD, the pain was so great, I thought I was going to pass out! I prayed that God lead me home safely and he did. All last night it felt like I had ruptured my pouch or over stretched it.
Well my tummy is still in pain and I tried to eat a grape and it hurt!
I spoke with the nurse where I had the surgery and she said to go back to broth for a few days and it should pass. I hope so... Has anyone did this before???
I did that last night I over ate. I thought I was going to die. Never again. My stomach hurt so bad I was walking all bent over. That was my first real pain since surgery. Live and learn. Today I have not had much of a appetite.
Hope your feeling better
Barb
By the way you look beautiful. Are you at goal. You really firmed up well. That is great
YES, I've done this...just two weeks ago. It was that time of the "month" and my eyes were A LOT bigger than my stomach and I over did it and MAN, did I PAY for it.
All I could do was lay down and go to bed and let it pass...I too, had to take it easy the next day. If felt like I was ripping open my staple lines open...Live and learn.

My drinking mistake happened about 3 months post op. I had been drinking my water all night so I was pretty full. I went in the kitchen to put something away and had an urge for something salty so I ate THREE cashews. OMG, what a mistake. I ran straight to the bathroom and spent the next 20 minutes getting out all the water I had been drinking. I ended up going to bed at 7:30 because I felt so crappy.
Needless to say, I learned my lesson.
Ya this happened just the other day. We were coming from my son's hockey game it was very late and we stopped at MC D's- I place we never go to. I decided to try a hamburger. I took most of the bun off and ate the burger. I must not have chewed enough (I also don't usually eat any bread). The next thing you know I was doubled over in pain. It took a while for it to settle down- I was on soft foods for a few days.
I won't do that again......
