NOT LOSING
What am I doing wrong. I only lost 10 pounds since Jan 1. I am at a total of 60 pounds lost. I am swimming at least 2 to 3 days a week. I drink more than 64 oz of water. I have even checked out how many carbs I should be eating and I am trying to stay within range of that. I haven't lost anything this week. I have noticed that I don't wait the 30 min between drinking and eating. I drink one protien shake a day which is 11 oz and 20 grams of protien. I have one protien bar which is 20 grams of protien. I make sure the carbs are equal or less than the protien in the protien bars. This is what my nutritionist told me. I usually have 4oz of milk and 4oz of juice and 1/2 cup cereal for breakfast. Is that too much? For lunch I have been eating a sandwach and fruit, Usually 2oz of protien on 2 slices of lite bread. For dinner I have 2oz of protien and something else, either potatoes, noodles or fruit. I drink 16 oz of skim milk a day (that is besides the 4oz for breakfast). I usually have a snack in the evening. (suger free icecream, or peanut butter crackers usually).
Here is my eating schedule:
breakfast 7:30am
protien shake 9:00am
16.9 oz water
lunch 12:00 pm
protien bar 3:00 pm
16.9oz water
dinner 5:30pm
16.9oz water/ after dinner sometime
16oz milk/ after dinner sometime
snack around 9 or 10pm
Am I just eating too much? I need some help.

I had a very slow month in Feb. I honestly think that our bodies are just trying to catch up.
The only thing I'm wondering is how many calories are in your protein shakes and bars. I don't do shakes at all anymore at my surgeons request. He believes we should get all of our protein from food at this point. I do however buy Power Crunch Bars which have like 185 calories 14 protein 4 sugars 1 fiber and a total of 9 carbs. I can only eat 1/2 at a time and I only use them if I can't eat right, like breakfast or lunch on the run.

here is my schedule and I have also slowed down since jan 1
Breakfast: 2 cups of skim milk........(180 cals)
Lunch: usually a sandwich with out bread...like chicken.. to get 20 grams of protein
Dinner: Something with atleast 20 grams of protein... some times a little veggies.
Sometimes I snack on chips.or cheese
drink milk at night....
I am only susposed to eat 2 times a day
sometimes in the morning i drink coffee after my milk
Maybe check your calorie intake.
I think you may be right about the protien shakes and bars. Without them I am not getting enough protien. I will try to start eating more foods with protien and try to stay away from protien bar. I think I will still drink one shake a day to help with the protien and see how it goes. Thanks for the input.

I am in the same boat.I haven`t lost since early feb.Right now I go back and forth between 276 and 280.I hope this isn`t the end of losing cause I have alot more to lose.I am also eating more and am wondering if thats the reason for the stop of losing.I am going to cut back on the amount of food that I eat.This is really depressing me.

I am going to try and cut back on my carbs and stop eating the protien bar every day. I'm going to try and eat regulaer food to get most of my protien but I still think I will need to drink at least one protien shake. I don't think this is the end of our losing, it is just a little stall. I hope. Don't be depressed, It seems that a lot of us in the Sept board are having the same problem. Hang in there.

I would put that into fitday.com You seem to be getting way to many calories. I would stop the protein subs. and do without the bread and noodles. It is so important that you wait 30 minutes before and after. I would also now that spring is almost here. Throw in a walk. 60 pounds is not bad. I hope this helps

I don't count calories. My docter doesn't want us worrying about calories now. Just protien and water. I am going to stop eating the protien bar and just drink one shake a day. I am going to try and get more protien from my food. I don't eat that many noodles or potatoes. Only once in awhile. I eat the lite bread when I have a sandwich. I go to water arobics twice a week and once just to swim. I will try and get some walking in. We have been going to the new mall here. It is all on one level and it is 1 mile around. Most of it is carpeted so it isn't as hard on my knees, I have ostioarthritus. I am trying to wait the 30 min. between eating and drinking. Ive' notices that there are others from Sept that are losing at the same rate as I am. I wonder why some lose faster than others. If you have any other sugestions let me know.

Your doing everything right. Mall walking is great. I go with my dad alot. I think the 30 min wait will make a difference. I think your doing great. I have a friend that lost 88 pounds in one year. Everyone losses different. You are the same as alot of sept peers. Your fine. !!!! Deleting that bar is a great ideal. I am only down to one protein drink a day. Protein first.
