Is anyone eating . . .

Is anyone eating bread, rice, and/or pasta? Those were the only three things my surgeon said to stay away from, because they expand in the pouch probably. I was just wondering if anyone was eating these foods and if so how you are doing with them and if they are effecting your weight loss that you can tell. Also I'm monitoring on FitDay and trying to stay about 30% protein, 30% fat, and 40% carbs. I'm at about 1000 calories/day with 60 g protein. Does that sound about right? Weight loss has slowed for sure but the exercise is toning me up which helps. Thanks for your comments. Sydney 244 - 162.5 - 130

I avoid bread, rice, and pasta....I do eat crackers and if I eat a sandwich, I will eat one piece of bread and only eat about half of the sandwich because I am full. I haven't had rice because the one time I did I had a bad experience. The same goes for pasta. As for chinese food....I will eat hot and sour soup because it has tofu in it...I will also eat a chinese dish, I prefer a meat that is stir fried and not breaded...., but I always ask for NO rice. If I accidentally get it...I just pick around it..., but I can not eat a lot of chinese food that has a heavy sauce, it is just too much. ~~em

I have not had any problems with bread, rice or pasta. I do not eat a lot of it, but occasionally I will have a little pasta, half of a sandwich or a bite or two of rice. I don't think it has slowed my weight loss down. I have lost 99 lbs since 9/9/2005. I try to stick with mostly protein. Alot of chicken and cheese. Susan 329-228-175

Thank you all for your comments. I do fine with crackers too. After my 6 month check up I'll be giving some new foods a try. Thanks again, Sydney

I do not eat those. I have ate pizza 2 times. But made me feel bloated and bad about myself. So I try to stay away. I heard rice expands in the stomach. Take Care Barb

a couple crackers do OK in my tummy, and once in a long time, I'll eat about 1/4 of a tortilla, but other bread, pasta and rice, just don't work for me. Occasionally, in soup, some potatoes, but never 'straight'... and to tell the truth, I really don't miss them. Pam 5'2" 282/**195**/145

Hi Sydney, I don't eat bread, rice or pasta. I have had melba toast and some crackers though. But since I'm on a stall, I am trying to stay away from even those!! donna
