Weight loss stall anyone?
I've only lost about 6 pounds in the last two months! This is a big slow-down from the beginning. I'm happy with what I have lost (116 since September 1st) but still wondering why it's slowed down so much and what I can do to speed it up. Also, I wondered if anyone else has experienced this? Otherwise, I feel great! Only 39 pounds to go to my goal of 150!

Dear sweet Alicia - stall!! Ha ha -- major stall going on here!! I think I lost maybe, well no not maybe, I know for sure, I lost six pounds from 1/16 to 2/16. That has been a major stall. I was at 203 for weeks, then got to 199-200 for a few more weeks. It has been that way for a month. But from reading some other posts on this forum, I think we are normal. Maybe it's the five month curse!!
I don't have a solution other than what I did - quit weighing yourself every day!! I was measuring my happiness, as usual, on what the scale said. Total bummer. So I didn't weigh every day, just once a week. And that was better.
But listen, 116 pounds since 9/1 -- and only 39 pounds to goal!! You are doing awesome. I can't wait until I'm in the 180s. At first it was under 200, then solid in the 190s and now I'm greedy and want the 180s!!
You're doing great. Keep up the good work. As far as trying to unstall -- seriously -- I did up my protein drinks to five!! Also I increased my H20 intake. Maybe that wil help. To be honest, for me, to increase my exercise doesn't really do much. But the upped portions of protein seemed to help. Although I don't think I am out of my stall. Check Barb's last posts (Ann Dee), she had a great breakthrough!!

I'm right there with ya also. I might - MIGHT - lose a lb a week. If I'm lucky.
I'm about, hmmm, 25 lbs to goal and I think that might have a lot to do with it also. Those last lbs are always hard!
I just keep in mind that I'm doing everything right, so I can't be sabotaging myself... it will happen, I just need to be patient. But I SO understand where you're coming from!!!

Oh wait! I'm only about 20 lbs from goal - I made it worse for myself!
January 1, 2006 I weighed 204 within that week I was under 200 then I stayed at 194-195-196 Till just last week, now I weigh 190-191 (depends on the day) I lost 8lbs from my last docotrs appointment in January... I just an appointment yesterday...If I wouldn't have lost last week i would have only lost like 3lbs in one month........My doctor told me that is normal........BUT.....I did loose inches.....January first I fit an 18, now I fit a 16...YaHHHHH
I really do feel your pain... you know what's even worse than a stall? A gain... I have my monthly friend visiting and have "gained" 2 1/2 pounds... let me tell you ot makes it that much harder to get my butt up and exercise when the scale goes the wrong way. I know it is all water weight ect but it still hurts to get up and see the scale go up up and away It must be about this time that everyone i****ting stalls because there have been quite a few posts this month and last month about this topic... Hopefully we will all get out of the stalls quickly and keep on track.

Thank goodness I have this group. I had a very, very bad day on Tuesday. I actually called in sick at work,(which I never do) stayed home and ate my way though everything (which was still 90% less than I ever ate) I have been fighting to get to onederland so bad and it just isn't working. Then I go here and read about everyone else and there stalls.
I am a late september (27th) and almost always am a week behind everyone.
What I have read is that most people break a stall by upping there protien and water intake. Some will do a little more exercise and have some success.
For you 39 pounds to goal is awesome. I started to remember all the stuff that I said to myself before the surgery. If only I could be like everyone else- shop at the "normal" stores. With 39 pounds to go you are so like the average woman who needs to loose just a few pounds.
sorry to ramble but I know that few words of encouragement have meant so much to me.
good luck
I'll just pile on with everyone else with a "yep, me too"! I've still got 43 lbs to go, and for the last few weeks carbs and sweets have been calling to me in the worst way. I still, like someone else said, eat WAY less than I used to, but still. It's definitely scary, I'm so afraid of falling back into my bad habits.
I've seen on a couple of other posts, you really need to judge your monthly weight loss on a percentage basis vs. just the number of lbs. So, if you had 150 lbs to lose and lost 20 the first month, that was 13% of your excess weight. Now, with 39 lbs to lose, 13% of your excess weight (which is a lot, by the way -- not to be expected at this point) would be 5 lbs. So you're still doing just fine!
