hi. I'm mostly a lurker on this board, but I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. I've been stuck for about the past 4 weeks... I'm just over 4 months out...I feel like I shouldnt be quite yet???? is anyone else going thru this?

I have been on two plateaus since surgery and each has lasted four weeks. Each time I had to keep telling myself that it was my body playing catch up so I wouldn't get discouraged. Hang in there........it will pass!

I, too, am on my first plateau, playing with the same pound up and down for two plus weeks. Maybe it's common at 4.5 to 5 months out? I have to admit, though, I've also been eating just a bit more than I was initially, and I'm sure that has something to do with it, so I need to get back to the stricter program, as well. Hang in there, it's probably just your body adjusting and you'll be losing again soon!

HI Kellee, I am experiencing the same thing. My surgery was 9/19/05 and I have only lost 73 pounds. I know I slowed up because I was in the hospital for my asthma and I was on prednisone for 1 month. I know I am loosing inches though. I am doing my water aerobics several times a week and walking but I am at a stand still with loosing pounds. It is driving me a bit nuts. I actually came on the board tonight to see if anyone was having problems. At least I don't feel alone anymore. Thanks for posting.

I'm so glad I saw this, because I've had the same thing happen. I hit one plateau at around 3 months--then droped 10 pounds really quickly and then nothing again for going on 4 weeks--It is scary...I'm wondering if this is it? I exercise like crazy, but have been eating a few more carbs...

I did the same thing about a month ago,,at around four months out, it lasted for almost a month. Then I started eating something every three hours or so, and added more protein, I had a three pound drop the next day and still losing. So , I would say its a normal thng. Your body does have to catchup, and I never stopped losing inches! SO, hang in there, this works, it just takes time!

I am about 4 and 3/4 months out. I have had two times where I've lost just a couple pounds or nothing over 2-3 weeks at a time. But then all of a sudden I'll have lost 5-10 pounds next time I check. I try not to check my weight too often. Just once or twice a month. Don't get discouraged. Everyone loses at different paces. It won't last forever, and probably more than likely when you come out of it you'll lose more than you expected to.
