Oh no!
Writing this is one of the hardest things I've had to do.
Late friday night, early saturday morning I woke up to horrible shooting pains in my side. It was aweful. I honestly thought I was dying.
My wife got the family up and rushed me to the hospital. The doctor was convinced I was passing a kidney stone, and said so repeatedly. Nice drugs were given. I relaxed. I underwent the CT scan.
And another.
And another.
And then they told me there was no kidney stone. Instead, they found a "mass" that is most likely "Renal Cell Cancer" the size of a golf ball in my kidney.
So now I'm trying to get in to see a Urologist and get this thing taken care off. I'm scared to death.
That pretty much sums up what I know. Prayers are requested.
Michael
i am so sorry to hear about this. i will keep you in my prayers.
i posted in november that my 2 year old niece was diagnosed (on her 2nd birthday) with leukemia. my best friend is fighting a very agressive form of breast cancer as well. As of today both are in remission - even so my niece will continue treatment for 2 more years and my friend is just finishing her radiation. i know the fear that you are feeling. my advice for you would be to make sure that YOU are pro-active with respect to your treatment and the understanding of your diagnosis and treatment. knowledge is power.
please keep us informed -
Micha
of course I am not a dr but I can tell you that they are not always right!! my best friend has been having horrrrrrrrrrrrrrible kidney pain and the urologist after reviewing all the scans also told her he blvs it to be renal cancer. When they went in to get it they were very happily surprised to find that it was some strange kind of kidney stone.... not the common ones everyone gets so it looks very different... until you know for sure try to be hopeful that the final diagnosis is not cancer.. and even if it is.. keep your chin up.. you will fight this and win!
