I know that we all have been discussing about how people think that this surgery is the "easy" way out, but I really wanted to vent about the people I work with. Mind you I have been out of work for over a year now because I have 3 herniated disks in my mid back(thorasic spine). One of the suggestions that I orthopedic doctor was that I have this surgery because the longer my back hurt the less exercise I was getting and the more weight I was gaining. It was a very viscious cycle. Anyway I believe I gained about 30 after I was injured, of which not many people say me because I was pretty much bed ridden. Anyway to make a long story short, there are people at work who are saying " Big deal, she had an operation she took the easy way out- of course she is going to lose some weight". I know that it is stupid, but for one thing I am not even there- do they have nothing to do but rag on me? I know I don't need their approval, but I also don't need their crap. I know what your feeling, having this surgery and living everyday thinking about everything that goes into your mouth is hard. Its not the easy way..at first I might of thought that but now having to live it... also exercising, giving up alot to be thin.... I mean If i could have done this before I wouldn't have needed the surgery in the first place. but easy no way

Yes, it baffles me how people think our lives is their business to talk about. I would be pretty irate if I were you too. I wasn't going to tell ppl about my surgery for that reason. But... My brother-in-laws aunt has a beauty shop and the old gossip mill runs pretty good there. Luckily on my end 'most' ppl are supportive. But there is still those few ppl that want to talk about me behind my back. Looking in the mirror though makes it all worth it. I hope all those gossipers grow big harry warts on their noses...
