I do dump I am happy I do
I did a no no today. My daughter lives with us and her 2 children. She bought them the powered and chocolate coated donuts for breakfast. The mini ones. I ate 4 of them I was so weak and shakey and had to take a nap. My nerves was shot. My stomach making weird noises. I felt terrible. almost fluish. So I know this message isnt important. But I wanted to share. I Dumped. I have always said I dont dump. But have never ate anything out of the ordinary. I will never eat those or anything like that again.

Barb,
I am glad you dump! It takes away all of the temptation, in my opinion...of course, the two things I have not had are sugar items and carbonated drinks. It is my goal to make it the entire year without either of these. I haven't tried sugar stuff, but I am afraid that if I did, I am worried I wouldn't dump and then I would be in trouble...knowing that I can eat without any problems!

Barb,
I know exactly how you feel. I wish I could/would dump. But I have heard from some people in my support group that sometimes you don't start dumping until later on after surgery. I know that I am addicted to soda and the temptation is definately there- but if I knew that I would dump than maybe it wouldn't.

Hi Barb,
I've always thought that I didn't dump either, until this past week when I've tried a few "no no's" and man did I get ILL!
Some with sugar/chocolate and some with fat....I had to lay down, calm my nerves and shakes...run to the bathroom to deposit it "both ways" and then lay down again until it passed.
The Carvel ice cream cake put me over the top last night at the super bowl party!

I have read that 60% of us will "dump" as to any processed sugar, chocolate, etc. I guess I am in the other 40% as I have had no problems whatsoever as to sweets. (In the past, I really wasn't much of a sweet person anyway...). As for other things, in the first few mos I dumped with flour tortillas and raw or steamed veggies. However, the past two+ mos I haven't dumped at all, even with some flour tortilla and raw veggies...
Here's my advice: Anything new, try a little, take it easy. See what happens. If you dump, try again a month or so later.
As in everything, moderation is the key.
Good luck all!!
