A Few Questions...
First off...I was reading a few weeks ago and someone posted about protein intake. I am always curious about how everyone is eating...and in one of the reply posts someone said that eating a protein bar where the carbs are more than the proteins, it is considered a candy bar. Well, I have done a little research at my local Wal-mart and Publix, and the only protein bars I find have more carbs than proteins....am I missing something???
Secondly, my family and I eat out about 1 or 2 nights a week...well, Saturday evening we went to Applebee's and I had the riblet basket w/ fries. I ate all three riblets and 4 or 5 fries. I am wondering if this sounds like an okay amount...too much? I know, I know, I am paranoid...
Thirdly, I know everyone is losing hair...and I am no different. I have not been faithful about taking my vitamins or my biotin, and I am really wondering if those of you who have been are losing hair?
Lastly, I know that I am paranoid about not losing what I want to lose...and everyone in their own way, is too. I haven't lost in about 2 weeks and am having a difficult time with snacking...especially at work and in the late evenings after the kids are in bed. I am trying to do better--last week I don't believe I snacked after the kids were in bed at all...so, that is a success. Now, I have to work on at work (oh, yeah, and in the afternoons).

All i know about the protein is that ur body only absorbs about 20 grams at a time... so if ur gonna eat the protein bar make sure its around that..
i am not sure what a riblet is but i know i can eat like 2 chicken strips when i go out.. i dont think that is a lot..
I havent taken boitin..but i make sure i get my protein and vitiams in every day......only a couple days did i come up short in the protein department.. I have been stalled for about 2 weeks too so maybe its just the timing...

I take my vitaims They are so important. So many bad things can happen to you if you do not take them. Your teeth could rot out you can age faster your bones will come brittle. This surgery is a must when it comes to vitiams. I eat at fridays alot. I always order the spare rib kids meal. I eat alot of it. Not all of it but enough. I do not eat french fries or fried food. I would order a steamed veggie instead or a baked potatoe. My hair seem to have slowed down on losing. But it is flat and I can not do a thing with it

I actually thought of the riblet platter as a kids meal with more fries...and I know I shouldn't eat fries, but I did keep it down to just 4 or 5...the kids nibbled on the rest! (they are my vaccuum cleaners!!!)
My hair seems to have slowed down, too...thank goodness!

I have not heard that about the protein bars. My dietician says it's fine to eat the South Beach cereal bars and they have 15 carbs and 10 proteins. I would ask your dietician on that one.
I think what you ate at Applebees sounds pretty normal.
I am losing my hair and have been for about 1 1/2 months. I hope it slows down soon. Luckly I havr very thick hair so you rally can't tell. I take my vitamins and get an average of 60-65 grams of protein a day.

There are protein bars with very few carbs. Youjust have to look for them. I just threw my box away and can't remember what kind they are. I did get them at Wal-Mart. The kind I like was the chocolate cookie dough. When I go to the store next time I will let you know what they are. I'm a big help huh.
I am losing my hair also. And I take my vitamins every day, but I haven't used biotin. I have a friend who didn't take here vitamins and Barb was right-her teeth are falling out of her head and she is so anemic she had to have blood transfusions. The B12 shots she was getting weren't even enough. Just hearing her story made me take my vitamins right from the beginning.
What are you snacking on? Some people still eat 5 meals a day. If you are still hungry maybe you should add another meal with good food in it.

My nutritionist told me about the protien bars. I have two that I get one is protien plus, I am at work and I don't have the other one with me. It is hard to find the ones that have carbs the same or lower than the protien, But that is what my nutritionist told me to eat. If the carbs are higher than the protien then you are eating a candy bar. Thats the only information I have. Check with the nutritionist at your doctors office. They all seem to have there own ideas on this.
