Starting to feel Hungry, it scarry!
I loved feeling no hunger or desire, I find almost five months out I am starting to feel more hunger and more often. I have even been grazing a little. My weight loss has been slow the whole time. I have lost 55lbs and still need to lose another fourty five. I am scared because I am only half way to my goal and just dont want to be haunted by food like before. I am trying to drink less water with or in between meals, I think that has something to do with it. I just get so thirsty It is hard to wait to drink, but I hear you flush the food out and get hungry again, I think thats what is happening. But I also seem to have that mind hunger just thinking and obsessing about food.
Help!! any suggestions or others having this problem too.

Hi Jaira,
You say you're trying to drink less with your meals. WLS patients are NOT supposed to drink with our meals AT ALL. Stop drinking fifteen minutes prior to your meal and don't take anything to drink for an hour after...keeps your food in your pouch longer and keeps you feeling full longer.
Don't cut back on your drinking in between meals, either. You need to stay hydrated and water helps aid in weight loss.
Are you getting a good dense protein with every meal? Like chicken, steak, fish? The dense protein keeps you feeling full, also.
I'm almost four months out and I'm also feeling hunger more often and am craving carbs again. I have to do the first stage of South Beach (no carbs at all) and get them out of my system and stop the cravings.
Good luck!

I know exactly how you feel when it comes to feeling hungry. I noticed some foods I can eat more of than others. I also worry I stretched out my pouch but how does one know? today I started back to 2 protein drinks a day to replace some meals. Speaking of water at meals. When I feel like I am thirsty because of eating I found the best way is to swish with water BUT don't swallow. Then spit it out. Usually, when I go to lunch at work or out to eat I do not even have water near me. I recently increased my water intake again and all of a sudden I am loosing again. I have lost 68 pounds which I thought was slow compared to others but I dieted before surgery for 1 year so actually I have lost 100. My suggestion would be to go back to the basics and remember no water 30 min. before or after a meal. Keep yourself busy after a meal so you don't think of the drinking or do the above. Good luck.
