Clearing Up Confusion
I wanted to clear up some confusion about the September 2005 Averages that I maintain.
I need five peices of information from everyone in order to enter them into the averages. I need the surgery date/surgery weight/Current Weight/goal weight/height. Without all of this information, the other feilds in the spreadsheet won't populate and it throughs the averages off.
So, if I don't have a peice of information from a member, I will input a guesstimate in one of several ways. I try, but am not always successful, to indicate a guessed amount by stricking through it. I didn't do so well on goal weights. Anyway, here's how I "guess."
If I don't have a surgery weight or a current weight, I do not add to the list.
If I don't have a height, I'll input the average height for the group.
If I don't have a date, I'll input the average height for the group.
If I don't have a goal weight, I'll input a goal weight that gives the member a BMI of between 25.1 and 24.8, whatever that might be.
If any of my guesses are wrong, just let me know and I'll correct it.
Also, I reset the list every monday, removing people who haven't checked in for two weeks (those in orange) and moving those not bold to orange. But you don't have to weigh in on Mondays. You weigh in on your schedule, and let me know at any time during the week. I update almost every night, or at a minimum of 3-4 times a week.
This week, the site didn't get updated as often as the spreadsheet did because Apple Computer introduced a new line this week, and getting FTP access to the website was pretty hard. (mac.com is an apple site.) The site is up-to-date today as of the posts from last night.
I hope this clears up any confusion with the methodology behind the site and the figures. If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears.
