Greetings all, Hope everyone is having a good week and has managed to fit some fitness in. I met with a trainer on Monday to set up a routine for myself at the local sports center. I do cardio MWF and strength training T and Th. This week has gone well. A little sore but boy it does feel good. Am walking a little taller. Better posture and a boost in confidence! I've honored my committments this week and am considering trying some roller skating at the local rink this weekend with my husband. I'm certainly no spring chicken and am a little nervous but it's something I love and want to give it a try again. I didn't take measurements before I started seriously exercising but am going to do that this weeked so I can monitor that. I've eated good this week but the scale moved up a couple of pounds this week and is finally on the way down again. Did I hear that muscle weights more that fat? I need to get away from weighing every day and go to just Mondays for the "Michael Update." Well, there's my WLS journey this week in a nutshell. Hope you all had a good week and met any challenges headon. Please share your successes, frustrations and hope. It is so helpful to so many. Warmest regards, Sydney

I had a good excercise week. I am been doing the fitday.com and putting my daily progress in there. What I am doing is cardio Everyday. I do 20 minutes on the elliptcal and 20 minutes on the thread mill. If it is nice out I walk outside for 40 minutes. That happen yesterday. I make sure to get those 2 major excercises in everyday. I also do my thigh master for a couple of minutes a day I use that on my thighs and my arms. The middle of my thighs seem to have alot of flabby. The rest of my legs are looking good. I want to tone the middle up. and the elliptical and walking is working them But I just wanted to get more excercise on that part. I started out at doing that 50 times on the thighs and 20 times on the arms. I want to increase that. I am also working on bar bell weights I dont do that as much. But I try to at least do that twice a week. I want to excercise my arms but I dont want to look like a man either. I just started working out on my ab lounger yesterday. I did it 20 times. I want to increase that. I was given permission yesterday to start working out my abs and stomach. I was afraid to do that because I did have open surgery and was afraid of getting a hernia. Seen My doctor yesterday. He said I looked great like 5 times. He was so happy. He said I am doing wonderful and to keep it up. I need to get blood work done again. Fitday.com gives me all the tools I need to make sure I know I am eating right and getting enough excercise to lose weight. I highly recommend it to all. I will get my inches in once a month. Is there anyone who can share a good lower stomach excercise at me. Or recommend a excercise device to shrink that part. My husband wants me to go to the base gym with him. I think I might do that it is free. Take Care Barb

Sydney, I have a cabinet in my garage I locked my scales in it. That way I know I am not getting on those scales everyday. It can make you depressed. I forgot to mention I bought some waterless cooking cookware. everything I cook is streamed. I can cook a pot roast on top of my stove. With all the goodys in it. The pans hold in all the vitiams lower calories. and my god the flavors of the food are so much better. And the meat is so juicy and flaverable. Take care Barb

I walk an hour each morning, carrying 2-1/2 lb weights in each arm and do overhead and other arm exercises for most of the walk. That's 7 days a week. Then on Mon, Wed and Fri, I go to Jazzercise for an hour..that's a lot of fun. I couldn't do the hour walking each morning without my iPod, by the way...I listen to murder mysteries and biographies... Pam 5'2" 282/**207**/145 www.ellablog.com

Hi everyone~ Welp, me and my sister are both in a competition "Biggest Loser" with our families and so it's been "on"! We have been hitting the Y almost everyday. Walking, riding bikes and lifting for an hour daily. Our husbands don't particularly like to "work out" but they came on Tuesday with us and enjoyed playing volleyball downstairs with some other people which blew me away! My hubby is usually shy, but he really enjoyed it and they both said they wouldn't mind coming back and doing it again. Wow. Anyway, I did my stuff and was loyal to myself, which is a change. I am wanting to get a bike to ride around town on for fun and exercise. Haven't rode one for probably 24 years! It's good to see you all doing so great. Yay us!!!

Hey Everyone, It's been an OK week for me. Work is real busy, I felt like I had to drag myself to the gym, once I was there I was OK. I'm doing 35mins. of Cardio on the "demon" eliptical trainer, and about 40 mins. of weights, 3 times a week. I also went to the nutritionist this week, I posted about my experience if anyone is interested. I'm also using fitday.com to log my food, it keeps me honest. One of the best thing about being more active is the fun you can have. I went sledding with my niece and nephew who are 6 and 7 last weekend. Oh my gosh..what fun. Nothing is better than the giggles of little kids, and Auntie too, as we're sledding down the hill. Six months ago, I would have never been able to do it...I'm so grateful. Have a good week all, an Keep movin'. Linda R
