What are ya'll eating in a day?
Hey, My name is Jenifer Francis and I just found this surgery date forum. I had surgery sept.21st and I really feel that I am not eating enough. I discipline myself to only 3 meals plus my protien drink but in the last couple of days I've been keeping track of my calories, and I'm averaging between 500 to 700 calories a day. Each small meal is consisting of between 100-150 calories and my protien is around 200 calories. Should I be eating more calories in a day? I was just curious as to what everyone else was eating in a day and do you stick to 3 small meals or do you also have a snack? I'm finding that I am hungry around 2:30 OR 3:00 and was thinking I might add an afternoon snack. To date I've lost around 65 pounds but I do stall alot. I was wondering would more calories maybe speed up the weight loss a little. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jenifer
Jennifer,
I believe I am eating between 1000 and 1400 calories a day. I try to stay closer to 1000, but there are some days when I get more. I am having problems getting all of my protein in..., but mainly because I am tired of the protein shakes. I am going to get back to them in the next week, just because I know how much good they do me!
I hope that helps!

If your getting 1000 to 1400 calories. I would say you are getting most of your protein from that. I didnt think I was getting enough protein until I noticed I am getting over 127 gms a day. When I added all my food in fitday.com Now I am getting to much and have stopped one of my daily shakes. That also gives me less calories.

I get about 500-700 calories a day and some days I get less. I think everyone is different. The thing my doctor says to concentrate on is getting in all of my protien and water then rest will come along as we progress. I have not had any stalls as of yet and feel good I just have no interest in food. I do however snack on occasion if I get hungry.

I'm getting between 700 and 900 calories, and between 80 and 95 grams of protein. I always eat the protein first...I eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day...breakfast is a protein shake I make from Crystal Light Orange and AnyWhey, lunch is about 1/2 Lean Cuisine or soup, snack is yogurt or cheese, dinner is usually shrimp or ground turkey and a dab of veggies, snack is FF SF custard or pumpkin mousse or 3 saltines with peanut butter. I also exercise at least an hour each day and 3 days a week I add an hour of Jazzercise to that for a total of 2 hours on those 3 days. The longest I've gone without a weight loss is 3 days. I have a digital scale, and I weigh every day, so somedays it's only 0.2 lbs lost, but that's OK, it's still a loss.

I seem to be eating around 500 calories a day in food and 300-400 calories a day in protein...depending on whether I can get to milk when i mix my drink. Generally 800-900 a day. I remember thinking I was eating way too much til I put it on fit day and figured it out. Still, some days are definitely less than others.

if you are eating not many calories and are stalling up those calories
try to get 1000 calories a day...the less you get the more your body goes into starvation mode and goes after the nutrients in your organs and muscle loss.
mostly been reading where when people has stalls to up thier protien intake and liquids(water and etc) or up thier calories if they are under 1k a day
could give it a try
